In 1991, Java Joe’s coffeehouse was located in Poway. Owner Joe Flammini moved the shop to Ocean Beach in 1994, then in 2000 reopened at a different location in O.B. (where Jason Mraz recorded two live albums). Eventually, he moved to North Park for a while, and in 2016 he settled in Old Town. It was already one of the most fluid, though still well-known, venues in the city.  Throughout the coffeehouse’s history, many future superstar musicians took the various stages at Java Joe’s. This will be the third Java Joe’s Reunion Show that San Diego Folk Heritage has presented. Join Master of Ceremonies Billy Galewood and Java Joe for an all-star lineup of veteran Java Joe’s luminaries: Berkley Hart, Gregory Page, Jack Tempchin, The Lovebirds(Veronica May and Lindsay White), Lisa Sanders and Brown Sugar, Shawn Rohlf, John Katchur, Bug Guts, Joel Rafael, Randi Driscoll, Rob Deez, and Kenny Eng

Upcoming Event

  • Sunday, January 4, 2026, 7:30 p.m.

More

T.S.O.L. (True Sounds of Liberty) is known as a pioneering American punk band from California, famous for evolving from raw hardcore punk to instead/additionally explore death metal, horror punk, and even AOR hard rock. They’ve navigated well-documented internal struggles, lineup changes, and personal battles with substance abuse (also publicly-documented), solidifying their influential, though often turbulent, place in punk history. They're recognized for their intense sound, Gothic-tinged albums, and later commercial hard rock ventures, all while maintaining a strong underground presence, never losing their punk cred. Their most recent studio album, A-Side Graffiti, was released in 2024.
