Known for his uplifting and spirited live performances and good vibe soul and roots rock, his Along the Way full-length was released in 2014, followed by a 2018 album called Brave Ones. His most recent album Revive earned accolades for its retro seventies-style grit and groove.

Tribal Seeds at the Rady Shell

Based in Chula Vista, Tribal Seeds were founded by two brothers, both raised playing instruments since early childhood. They won a 2008 Best World [Music] trophy at the San Diego Music Awards and began a steady stream of top-ten appearances on the Billboard reggae album charts with their second full-length, 2009’s The Harvest. Over the years, the band has collaborated in the studio with Sonny Sandoval (P.O.D.), Eric Rachmany (Rebelution), Kyle McDonald (Slightly Stoopid), and reggae icon Don Carlos, as well as becoming a staple on the summer island music festival circuit. The downtown stop on the Coast 2 Coast Summer Tour also features The Movement and KBong & Johnny Cosmic.

Sara Petite’s Americana Roundup returns with her third annual Bringin’ Down The Neighborhood Party, a night of outlaw country music featuring singer-songwriter Shawn Rohlf. A local multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, actor, and music teacher, Rohlf grew up in the small town of Elk River, Minnesota, and began taking guitar lessons at age nine. The mid-to-late '80s found him making waves with his original band the Hillwilliams. In 2004, his acoustic roots group the 7th Day Buskers won a San Diego Music Award as Best Americana Band and were nominated several other times. Petite will serve as host and performer, for a bill that also includes David Serby, Chloe Lou, Ryan Blue, Jonny Wagon, and Jenny Petite. A Mullet Contest is open to all attending, with attendees invited to wear your best mullet wig or tout your natural hair to win a $100 grand prize.

Hank Easton at Duke’s La Jolla

Hank Easton has developed a unique style of jazz-pop-rock-blues-fusion guitar playing and songwriting. Originally from New York, he began learning guitar at age five and was classically trained at The Cleveland Institute of Music from early childhood until age 17. Already a seasoned club guitarist after graduating from Ohio State University in 1985, Easton says his playing is influenced by the likes of Hendrix, Beck, Clapton, Carlos Santana, Steve Howe, and Peter Frampton. Aside from serving as guitarist for the Steely Damned 2, his solo repertoire covers a wide variety of music, from classic rock and pop, to electric and acoustic guitar classics, modern blues, jazz, and classical.
