Berkley Hart and Back to the Garden
Berkley Hart and Back to the Garden will perform music from the concert film the Last Waltz, featuring the music of the Band, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, and more. According to Calman Hart, this isn’t a “tribute” show. “Jeff [Berkley] has put together a stellar roster of talent who are guaranteed to do justice to the music,” he says. “And we are going to stay true to arrangements, more or less. But we’re not trying to mimic all the original artists with costumes, makeup, vocal styles, etc. On the contrary, allowing the musicians to put their own personalities into the show is what makes it so appealing and allows for more genuine performances.” Meanwhile, Berkley notes that there are a few changes to the songs' running order. “We’ve added a couple tunes that aren’t on the soundtrack and had to leave off several because the show would’ve been four or five hours long if we did everything from the soundtrack,” he remarks. In addition to Berkley Hart, performers on hand will include Robin Henkel, Tolan Shaw, Jeffrey Joe Morin, Gregory Page, Sue Palmer, Jose Sinatra, Robin Adler, Dave Blackburn, Dan Byrnes, John Frazer, Suzanne Harper, Joe Rathburn, Steve Harris, Barbara Nesbitt, and former Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford. The nights artists will be backed by local all-star group Back to the Garden, featuring “Cactus Jim” Soldi, Marc Twang, Sharon Whyte, Tim Flack, Ben Moore, Rick Nash, Larry Grano, plus the Styletones Horns.
