The Gabriel Sundy Jazz Trio with Harley Magsino and Matt Smith play Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue) at 9:30 p.m. 21+, no cover… Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos has two gigs at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) beginning at 6 p.m. when he hosts the Young Lions Series this week featuring the Sahara Grim Quartet with Johnny Steele, Martin Martiarena, and Nikko Jeffreys, followed by his jam session at 8:30. All ages, no cover, musicians bring your horns… The Jazz 88 Blues Jam session goes down at Proud Mary’s Southern Bar & Grill (5500 Kearny Mesa Road) hosted by J. Otis Williams and guitarist Mark Augustin. Start time is 6 p.m. No cover, family friendly.
