Start the jazz week off right with a free noon-time concert by the Rob Thorsen Trio with Joshua White and Johnny Steele at the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library (1008 Wall Street) from 12 to 1 p.m. All ages… The Abbey Rader Quintet with Peter Kuhn, Drew Ceccato, and Kyle Motl play the Loft (911 Lyman Lane) at 8 p.m. No cover.

Wednesday 27
Gilbert Castellanos presents the Young Lions Series at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) from 6 to 8 p.m.; then he leads the jam session from 8:30 to 11 p.m. All ages, no cover, no minimum.
