Paul Gaspar is not a medical doctor
Whatever, he married a goose. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2016/o…— October 1, 2016 10:29 p.m.
Bug season
Hi friends! You want to catch more spiny lobsters? Well, get one of these and when that bugger goes under a rock, shove it in there and bring back your bug! http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2016/s…— September 30, 2016 3:46 p.m.
The holy grail of Christmas presents
You have a point about the winters. I had an uncle in Ohio and another in Pennsylvania that had model trains. A couple of other reasons the East coast may have more enthusiasts is most of the homes have basements where they have room for them and the northeast was where steel and railroad industries dominated.— September 30, 2016 1:36 p.m.

Ray Kroc bought the San Bernardino location from the McDonald brothers when he bought their "system." Even the location Ray Kroc built in 1953 in Downey, California was built before the one you cite in Illinois (opened in 1955): In fact, the one in Downey is still in business and it is the "oldest operating McDonald's" in the chain. A living, breathing "museum" that still serves food. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2016/s…— September 29, 2016 8:28 p.m.
Paul Gaspar is not a medical doctor
It's very misleading. If lawyers (who have a Juris Doctor degree) started calling themselves "Dr." we'd have a ton of doctors in the county. This is an excerpt from PT In Motion News: "APTA clarified that in order to provide accurate information to consumers, the association provides clear guidelines for physical therapists regarding the use of the title "Doctor." The guidelines state that physical therapists, in all clinical settings, who hold a doctor of physical therapy degree (DPT), shall indicate they are physical therapists when using the title "Doctor" or "Dr," and shall use the titles in accord with jurisdictional law." APTA is the American Physical Therapy Association. Perhaps the APTA should be notified of his deviation from their guidelines.— September 29, 2016 3:50 p.m.

The first McDonald's restaurant was in San Bernardino, California. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2016/s…— September 29, 2016 12:21 p.m.
Spectator sports walloping the arts except in San Diego
I enjoy arts and sports. But as I grow older I read a lot more than I watch TV or attend sporting events. On TV I watch. almost exclusively, PBS. When I was younger I had Chargers season tickets. Now I don't give a damn about them. What is interesting about sports is the athleticism and the grit, or the passion for the sport. The drive to win. But just as competition is entertaining, so are the arts. The arts furnish classics, tradition and a connection to our cultural roots. The joy of celebrating what our ancestors created and passed on. Life would be far less rich without the arts, and performing arts. Arts can be predictable and immortal, were sports are a one time gamble every match.— September 28, 2016 10:56 p.m.

Who won debate? Peso soars.
When people do not vote for either candidate, someone else is voting for them. Sometimes you just have to accept that the devil you know may be better than the devil you don't know.— September 28, 2016 11:52 a.m.
