Armistead Burwell Smith IV, otherwise known as Zach Smith, of Pinback is posting old songs from one of his many solo projects, Systems Officer, on music-streaming site SoundCloud. Smith started posting his Systems Officer songs last week, calling them the "The Systems Officer Vault Series."

"I thought it would be fun to share a Systems Officer song from time to time that for whatever reason I never completed," Smith writes on the website. "These songs are often just thoughts or the beginnings of songs or ideas I've recorded that have sat for many years in my personal collection of unreleased material.

The first song from the vault, "Yohi," is a mid-tempo tune with a catchy keyboard melody and simple drumbeat. A meandering guitar lead wanders in over Smith's whispering vocals.

As to the significance of the song, Smith writes: "Im not sure exactly when I recorded this but I believe it was around 2002. Enjoy! Or, maybe not? either way more to come."
