Come See Me Today

it's strange how sometimes in the darkness of early morning .... with a pot of coffee brewing .....and me knowing i only want one cup.......

that my mental meanderings try to sort themselves out.....

daytime is when my mind is most often on snooze control....the small particulars just leading me thru my day....

am i in it somewhere....???

i guess i am...

i seem to be...

in it for the short run....

in it for the long run......

I've always been an able runner....sometimes I've run so fast I've out distanced those around me....

running along the winding river into my unknown future......eager to see what awaits me there......

a runners high can be so exhilarating........

is it the run......the run that's most rewarding......???

how can it be.....

I'm a proponent of "stop and smell the roses"....especially when a cup of hot java is readily at hand.......

and the significance of night's sleepy slumber.... and morning's oncoming wakefulness beckons the petals to open reflecting another day......

twixt moisture laden night and bright resilient morning... the moon's luster walks me thru my garden

I'm still tending it.....a desjardin willing to energize the growth.......

it was such a lovey garden once....all that is growing here has been nurtured by my hand....my tender or bold ministrations.......

has my green thumb failed me here .....???

and if it's failed me here...where else will it fail me i wonder ???

darkness softens these unmanageable discernments......

if I'm not safely tethered.....the nightly winds will catch and fill my sails.....

taking me out into the starstream......the brilliant ones gliding passed me ........visible to my naked eye now....

but visually lost in the lashing solar winds of the day....

and so then comes the running

when i run my feet don't heed the gravity.....my lungs want to burst free..... .

when my sail unfurls and feels the plunging eager wind......how can i not lift windward....to follow the Northern Star to some unknown destination....

where my night and day will find and face and recognize each other .......

and share a pot of coffee always meant for more then one.........

Good Morning Starshine....have you met Sunshine ??

"yes i do have an extra cup...sit and relax with me.....perhaps we can greet the day together.....do you have the time ???

....or do you have to run"..????
