Smokehouse in a food court?
Am going to have to try this place out! You really need to head out to PB and try the new Primitive Smoke BBQ restaurant. That's some high quality stuff!— August 25, 2017 12:37 p.m.
47,340 oxycodone tablets seized at border
Wow, that is a borderline impressive figure. It also sadly speaks to the terrible epidemic of opioid addiction in this country. Sherlyberan is correct, this epidemic (along with heroin) was largely manufactured by the pharma industry and the pursuit of the almighty dollar with zero regard for long term consequences. I have to wonder if she was being coerced by a cartel to move the pills in that kind of quantity? Especially considering she'll be locked up for a long time for this.— March 10, 2017 9 a.m.
Not just a gas station under the flight path
I may be wrong, but I've always thought that people complain because they feel that liquor stores tend to attract more "riff raff" to an area. I'm not sure how accurate that actually is, but on the surface it sometimes looks that way. When you're in a "bad" area, there tends to be more liquor stores.— December 21, 2016 11:39 a.m.
State bar exam tough for local law school grads
Stats like this are so unfortunate to hear. When people shell out 6 figure sums of money and still don't receive a 6 figure education, it makes me wonder what exactly that money is going to. Has this place taken no steps to improve their professorial staff?— December 15, 2016 10:12 a.m.

Surfrider's I.B. surf contest iffy
I've spent a lot of time surfing in IB (went to high school there). The sewage has always been a problem but there are actually quite a few organizations working to help solve the problem. Wildcoast is a notable one. It's a tough situation, the beach is directly impacted by the 3rd world infrastructure of Mexico. Perhaps a Surfrider contest being canceled due to pollution would bring more attention to the problem?— November 3, 2016 4:04 p.m.
Will soccer save golf?
I think this is a great idea and is really positive way for the golf courses the make some money while we're in this drought. BUT as a golfer, I wish that the courses made more of an effort to explain to the foot golfers the rules of a golf course and about the etiquette involved. I've played Balboa many times when foot-golfers were out and you'd be shocked at how many people pay no attention to what's going on. Golf balls are small and are usually traveling in excess of 100mph. They hurt.... A lot. For it to truly work, there needs to be some sort of protocol posted on the 1st tee. Golfers get extremely frustrated that the game gets slowed down significantly. Footgolfers get frustrated that they have to often give right of way for golfers.— November 3, 2016 1:36 p.m.
Physician's assistant brings on physician's demise
It would seem that he found his worst case scenario and decided to run with it. It's sad really, I'm sure he probably had a reputable career up until this point. Not anymore I suppose?— October 28, 2016 10:15 a.m.
Bridgepoint over troubled waters
I'm actually a former employee of Ashford (a few years ago I quit). When you're hired, they genuinely make you believe that you're helping the people that enroll with the University. There's definitely a "drink the kool-aid" culture there. Generally people were shown the door when they stopped drinking it.— October 28, 2016 10:09 a.m.
Physician's assistant brings on physician's demise
What a dope.— October 27, 2016 4:54 p.m.
