The Exorcist at Rooftop Cinema Club -- 10/26/19 at Manchester Grand Hyatt

Renée Zellweger’s Judy Garland sings a sad song
Disappointing film though the little-seen in the last few years Zellweger makes a good Judy Garland. After a fascinating opening scene of power-politics with a VERY creepy Louis B. Mayer, is settles into a routine "Lifetime" movie. It's almost as if the two or three scenes with the Mayer character were written by an entirely different person. Of course, there is the obligatory scene (probably apocryphal) that is meant to explain WHY she is considered ansecular patron saint or icon or whatever you want to call it, for alphabet people.— October 16, 2019 1:20 p.m.
Guie'dani's Navel (Xquipi' Guie'dani)
Good movie but a little too minimalist in style. It could have been much better. Similar to "Roma" but written prior as it was the selected screenplay at a visiting Sundance workshop in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. I don't know who or WHAT committee selected it, but they seem to be dialogue-phobes. Marks, you're much too kind! If I were to see it, it would be only for Cardi B.— September 20, 2019 3:19 p.m.
Downton Abbey
It's the "persecuted homosexual" that seems intriguing to me! All around, this just seems way too stuffy, Lick.— September 20, 2019 3:17 p.m.
Is America Facing an Immigration Crisis? -- 09/19/19 at USD: University of San Diego
And you want a gold medal for your "ancestors from Europe"??? Your comment demonstrates one thing--you are ignorant of the history of immigration and labor in this country. It's a gross oversimplification. So you know where you can stickkk your "legal." Bad laws are bad laws and the criminalization of immigration has been a series of bad laws since the 70's.— September 18, 2019 4:42 p.m.
The Goldfinch
Yeah, sounds pretentious to me.— September 13, 2019 10:42 a.m.

National sovereignty, Mr. Lowry??? You mean kinda like Russia instead??? Maybe a threat to your WASP socio-cultural hegemony, but NOT to national sovereignty.— September 13, 2019 10:32 a.m.
