Santana High over-reacts to gun
Every retired law enforcement is allowed to carry a weapon provided he meets the requirements of the law. He is the very kind of person you would want to have with a gun. He has been trained in how and when to use a firearm. He has to continue to be proficient and up to speed.— March 28, 2018 5:31 p.m.
Terry Brown's sellout
Matt Potter: Once again your anti-union anti-employee bias is showing. If employee wish to belong to a union and negotiate with an employer for wages, hours and working conditions there is two ways of doing it. One is an election overseen by the NLRB or by a mutual agreement between the employer and the union to have a card check. If the employees win the election or show that there are enough employee wanting a contract with their employer through a card check then the union is certified as the employees representative. Once that is done the employees meet with the union reps and TELL the union what they want in a contract with the employer. The employer and the union negotiate an agreement which then is presented to the employees and the employees then vote whether to accept the contract or not. It is sad that allowing "big labor into the non-union hostelry" is going against GOP values. The hotel/restaurant/entertainment/retail industry has prospered on the backs of low wage low/no benefits employees who have had no voice in the workplace. What is wrong with employees having a contract with their employers?— March 28, 2018 5:26 p.m.

"The will of the people"
The "will of the people" is usually expressed by voting. The candidate with the most votes win. Majority is the standard for "winning" thus expressing the "will of the people". The one exception is the President which is determined not by the popular vote but by the number of votes accumulated by the Electoral College. The Electoral College can and has defeated the will of the people. In the last election the Electoral College defeated the majority vote. The Electoral College should be eliminated and let the votes fall where they may.— March 27, 2018 7:57 a.m.
Matthew Philbin — landlord to the homeless
HUD section 8 housing is a guaranteed income for landlords. The government nee taxpayer picks up the difference between what the HUD qualified participant pays and the market price of the apartment. While Mr. Philbin is doing what he can to help (qualified) homeless get off the street he is also getting paid by the taxpayer. HUD units have 100% occupancy rates and guaranteed income with waiting lists for five years out.— March 27, 2018 7:50 a.m.
Oceanside man denies seeking child for sex
Of course he went to the girls home to give her a bible. Just because he is a registered sex offender and cut off his GPS monitor doesn't mean that he was up to no good. Yea right. Sex offenders can never be cured. He should be put away, prison or hospital, for life. There is no such thing as redemption for a sex offender bible not withstanding.— March 27, 2018 7:42 a.m.
Barry Minkow movie is finally out
Of course he became a pastor as it is just another way to fleece the flock.— March 26, 2018 7:05 a.m.

Maintenance Assessment Districts sound like a way for the city to get paid twice for doing what they are supposed to be doing.— March 25, 2018 7:05 a.m.
High stakes for Lorena and Nathan
For every dollar that Labor puts into the race the business will pour much more money into candidates that are anti-worker and only represent the wealthy with no regard to those who actually do the hands-on work.— March 24, 2018 12:07 p.m.
