County unemployment dips below 3 percent
The hotel, restaurant, retail and tourist industry rely on illegal workers and legal immigrant workers who are willing to work for poverty wages to bolster their bottom line. They also rely on welfare and housing subsidizes as well as the newest "affordable housing" programs to augment their profits. I wonder what would happen if employers did not have all these government and social programs to augment their low wage no/low benefit workers?— May 20, 2018 7:07 a.m.
San Diego's nine hot spots for illegal dumping
Thanks for the info. I have not been to the dump in 30 years.— May 20, 2018 7:01 a.m.
San Diego's nine hot spots for illegal dumping
The problem started when the city landfill started charging homeowners for dumping small amounts of trash. Back in the 70's it cost me $15 to dump an old washing machine. The dump fees are now so high that it discourages people who have an old couch or whatever. The fees should be reasonable people who have things to get rid of that don't fit in the trash can. They make plenty of money from commercial trash companies.— May 19, 2018 6:03 a.m.
Just a Lo Jack recovery at Michaels

Private prisons back con center measure
Private prisons are staffed by low IQ, poorly trained, low wage/benefit, Walmart rejects. The inmate neglect and abuse is rampant and the staff turnover is high. Prisons should be staffed by highly trained well qualified people.— May 13, 2018 7:23 a.m.

Oceanside's civic freak flag
Sounds like the city council has the vision of an Ostrich. Some are just trying to put lipstick on a pig it is Oceanside after all.— May 12, 2018 7:09 a.m.
The Benadryl did it
I don't care what the excuse is this worthless excuse for a human being should be taken off the street for the rest of his life be it jail or the rubber ranch.— May 12, 2018 7:04 a.m.
To dispel the rumors
There was a restaurant like this one in the San Francisco Bay area. It was family owned and they opened only for dinner. They cooked as one would for a large family. When they were out of something that was it. Everything was made fresh every day. The family owned the building and had for generations. This seems to be the case here. If they rented the space they would not be able to open just for dinner.— May 12, 2018 7:01 a.m.
