Start the jazz week off with a free lunchtime concert showcasing the U.S. Marine Corps Jazz Orchestra with special guest Gilbert Castellanos at SDSU’s Smith Recital Hall (5500 Campanile Drive) from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday 28
The Mardis Gras Trio with Gary Rich on trumpet, Ed Kornhauser on piano, Mackenzie Leighton on bass, and Matt Smith on drums play Harbor Music Hall (1506 India Street) from 7 to 10 p.m. $20 bucks gets you in, $30 gets you dinner… The Nathan Hubbard Trio with Kevin Jones on guitar and Harley Magsino on bass set up at Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue) from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. 21+, No cover.
