Two violent deaths occurred in Tijuana, during the afternoon hours of Monday, June 10. In the first homicide, a woman was shot in the head and killed around 2:00pm (1400). The shooting took place on the avenida Milton Castellanos. The second homicide, which took place within an hour of the first, killed a man in the calle Palomino at colonia Cuauhtémoc.

Monday’s homicides follow a violent weekend, which saw five murders in less than 12 hours. Authorities believe the murders are all tied to drug trafficking.

Both homicides occurred within a mile of the United States border.

Had some people over from NJ for the San Gennaro feast last weekend and tried my best to convince them they would have a nice time. Fortunately they weren't kidnapped, shot, raped, beheaded, hung from a bridge....etc. They did however enjoy themselves but, what that #%^& gente? With the mexican president changing the rules on the war on drugs, I guess this is going to ratchet up again. Animals

I must protest the use here of "executions" to describe out-and-out murders in public. The term execution connotes some sort of legal authority to take life, and unless the Sinaloa cartel is now legally governing Baja or the entire nation of Mexico, its homicides are in no way executions. This confused use of the term started with murders that were, in a most cliched way, called "execution-style" shootings. Others then decided not to bother with the "-style" part of the term, and now badly misuse the word.
