KUSI News Anchor Dan Plante Transplants to Phoenix

KUSI's animated morning news anchor, Dan Plante, surfaced in Phoenix after months of speculation that the news anchor had been fired.

In the wake of Plante's disappearance from the morning news show fans started a Facebook page, "Where is Dan Plante?"

Union Tribune columnist Tom Blair ruled Plante was MIA (missing in action) in a column in late June.

Now months later, Plante explains on his own Facebook page the reason for his absence.

"Apparently a lot of you have been wondering where I've gone and what I'm doing. The outpouring of interest has been wonderful , eye opening and appreciated."

"For those who care, I've followed my heart to the woman I'm going to marry and spend the rest of my life with. Despite the internet speculation, I leave KUSI on good terms, no drama, just life evolving. I look forward to the next adventure and look forward to seeing you all again."

Either he got a better offer, or he was fired. The broadcast industry isn't like the rest of us. "Good terms" is seldom an accurate description of one of these moves.

If Dan moved to Phx. for a girl, he is feeling the heat, right about now! 116 that is, he should very soon, as the temp. keeps rising, realize where, and what, he has left. I grew up there, and could never do another Summer in Phx. Dan, if she really loves you, she will follow you back to S.D. You know you could work at any news channel here ! We miss you, and want you back. Come Sept. and 120, and you will pay more attention to these words of wisdom.

Don't know how long he was in Phoenix. We have family there and I don't recall seeing him on TV I believe that as of December, he was in SLC doing Good Morning Utah. Don't know about now, but we were there back in April and he was still there. Guess that whole follow your heart thing didn't work out so well??
