i'm sure sorry i missed this

nothing is more down to earth then a small town 4th of July celebration...for 16 years i was involved in many different ways in one in Condon Oregon....from the simplicity of happy eater of tasty bar-b-que and observer to float creator and participant in the ever so simple parade

it's easy to cheer for everyone because you know everyone

it's hard not to get roped into the "friends of the library" book sell

or precooking 100 pounds of beef ribs and chicken

if you're under 55 and not completely stove up from Arthritis you'll have a job to do

whether it cooking and serving up flapjacks at the breakfast in the park

or a multitude of other jobs to entertain an 800 person town that has swelled to 5000 for the weekend

i adore small town living and surely miss it

ya...i kinda loved that step back to the past...a time of deeper closeness to ur neighbors...and Oregon in general has a slower pace of life...nice to take those deeper breaths and think about what i never had time to think about before

there is a very fast wind stream above the town...just listening to it everyday was soothing ;-D
