Sweet Cheeks finds new home at Bar Dynamite

Future Wife biweekly jamdown puts the smooth on Mission Hills.

After a brief hiatus following their departure from El Dorado, Sweet Cheeks is back and ready to love you down at their new home, Bar Dynamite (1808 W Washington Street – Mission Hills) starting Sunday, June 30.

Every Sunday through summer, Sweet Cheeks spreads love jams spanning all eras including classic R&B, modern soul, 80s boogie, future and modern funk, not to mention those timeless baby makin' songs you know and secretly love.

“We like to call it ‘future wife,’” says curator Mawkus, “since the music we present will ultimately be the soundtrack to meeting your future significant other.”

Resident DJs Mawkus and Awnode will be holding down the groove sauce along with their newest addition, smooth operator and selector Andre Power of Trill and Art in the Park.

Here's an exclusive mix that Andre put together to showcase more of the Sweet Cheeks sound:

“I'm really excited about Sweet Cheeks happening at Bar Dynamite,” Mawkus says.

“It's quite possibly the most perfect fit for what Sweet Cheeks is about. I started this back in 2011 for a number of reasons that still stay true today. This is definitely a perfect time to kick off Sweet Cheeks again in SD, since we just played ‘The Birds & The Bees’ NightLife at the Academy of Sciences in SF last Thursday inside the Steinhart Aquarium.”
