Will High Flying Birds Land in San Diego?

Stereogum.com has called Noel Gallagher "the man who wrote virtually all the songs for Oasis, and sang a lot of the best ones." The Daily Mail reviewed Gallagher's solo project — named after a song by San Francisco rockers Jefferson Airplane - the High Flying Birds and raved about the "dreamy harmonies, strummed guitars, and Ringo-esque drumming" that reminds many of Wonderwall. Anticipation (and curiosity) is high to check out the ex-Oasis band member, and San Diego will soon get that opportunity.

Though the High Flying Birds put on a well-received set during night one of 91X's Wrex the Halls in December at the Valley View Casino Center, it was abbreviated. The band is scheduled to appear at Coachella in the spring, and now there is confirmation the High Flying Birds are headed back to San Diego.

A long listing on concertboom.com highlights the busy Birds’ jam-packed 2012 tour schedule. There is a "Noel Gallagher concert in San Diego" scheduled for sometime after September 10, 2012. Also on the list, Gallagher shows in Long Beach and Los Angeles to be arranged. Good news for fans who never quite caught Oasis on their infrequent, and often hastily canceled, tours of the United States or missed Gallagher's Birds at Wrex the Halls.

"91X is proud to present Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Tues. April 17th - Balboa Theater. Tickets go on sale this Fri. Feb. 3rd at 10am through Ticketmaster." This appeared today on the 91X Facebook page, so I guess the Birds will be flying into San Diego for a quick gig (not in September) between Coachella sets. The Balboa Theater is an awesome place to catch a show. This ex-Oasis band is blowing mean brother Liam's "Beady Eyes" out of the water.

first of all, "this ex-Oasis band": the High Flying Birds is NOT a band, as Noel said, but the name of the album. "the man who wrote virtually all the songs for Oasis, and sang a lot of the best ones." No and no, 23 Oasis songs (so a lot of them, as Oasis didn't publish many albums, only 7) are NOT by Noel, and everybody know the best ones were sung by Liam, who was the SINGER of Oasis, for your information, without whom, Noel wouldn't even have been known, but he would still play along the streets in Manchester. "Good news for fans who never quite caught Oasis"... do you think that listening to Noel, you listen to Oasis? you're absolutely wrong, and even Noel knows that so well. "on their infrequent, and often hastily canceled tours"... exactly, Noel left the band 3 times, and of course blamed all the other people, Liam, the band, the management, Pretty Green, etc.

Jan. 30, 2012

and what about the 21 negative reviews Noel received from music magazines, while "Beady Eyes" only one negative?

Jan. 30, 2012

it seems you want to read only what you want to read...

looks? where are the looks of Gail Powell? sorry but you confuse me with Noel Gallagher, the one playing the "female" card, always on Grazia magazine, telling how successful he is with women on his blog where oh! he's such a hero with one woman always throwing her bra. Such a pity that nobody, apart from Gail Powell, considers him. It must be her throwing her bra.

Jan. 30, 2012

oh Gail Powell (do you comment your own articles?), now I've seen your profile, you're a woman. Now I see why you said that. Jealous of Liam.

Jan. 30, 2012

I flagged your remark. I hope other do as well. Please keep it civil.

Jan. 30, 2012

oh I'm gonna cry. Truth always offends eh?

Jan. 30, 2012

I flagged yours too, for the scaredy cat you are.

Jan. 30, 2012

Thank you, dear Ponzi. Even though you are named after a scam, I still find your gentlemanly demeanor refreshing.

Jan. 30, 2012

is this a site for retired people?

Jan. 30, 2012

you too retired people? you too ugly woman? I flagged you too, it seems important on this site.. I'm gonna invite friends flagging you, sounds funny for you. I have to thank you 'cause you Noel fans always give me a lot of material to write about you..

Jan. 31, 2012

Dear oasisblues, Yes, I am a woman, and yes, I comment on my own stories when I need to clarify matters. When I got a tip about Noel Gallagher coming, I did not realize he was going to be coming around Coachella time, so I wanted to mention that. You are right about his not having a band. Gallagher himself has said his new group is more of a "collective." We can agree to disagree on the more talented brother. I would hope that you would act less like Liam and not bring offensive personal issues into musical arguments.

Jan. 30, 2012

right, you still didn't answer to musical arguments. "you would act less like Liam"...oh right, one not blinded by Noel, acts as Liam. I guess you are "the brains behind the blog".

Jan. 30, 2012

"bring offensive personal issues"? where? so it's true that you're ugly? ah you erased that... says a lot. "personal issues" are fundamental when articles bring ridiculously wrong facts

Jan. 30, 2012

here is not "agree to disagree on the more talented brother", those above are FACTS. Just tell the truth, you're just one as many Noel's ass lickers blogs, as everybody knows he's a media darling. Such a pity that you never noticed the whole world he insulted. Oh you must be blinded.
