It's gotta be tough trying to find a hitman. You can't just find one on Craigs List.

And, I can never figure out why people don't really think these things thru. If your spouse ends up dead, they're going to check your computer history. If you have a lot of searches for chloroform, guns, poison....it's really not going to look good.

Not everyone can pull a Pete Townshend and say "Oh...child pornography. Well..you see, I'm writing a book. And I just wanted to see how easy it was to get child porn off the computer."

The other day on the news, a guy was arrested with images on his computer. He said they got there because his cat jumped on the computer while he was doing work, and all these pornographic images involving children just happened to pop up.

Now, this is hard to believe. Maybe one image popping up. Like the cat playing the piano.

I could maybe see your cat running after the mouse on your computer, confused by the name of it. But the problem this guy is going to have is that he had over a thousand images of kiddie porn. Unless, of course, he's going to try and claim that his cat was spelling it wrong, and meant to Google "Kitty porn."

But I digress.

We're talking about hit men here.

If you Google, there will be a history. So, people often just ask around. And that seems to get them in trouble, too.

A La Jolla lawyer is involved in a case now, where his wife is accusing him of this.

There was a case in San Marcos the other day, that involved a hired hitman. I think the guy drove to Tijuana to take someone to the airport. The two guys he was taking to the airport shot him, but he lived.

Now, I offer to take friends to the airport all the time. But when they tell me "I'm flying out of LAX" I tell them they can take a cab. Ain't not way I'm driving someone to the TJ airport.

I'm sure by now everyone has seen the clip of the attractive woman in her mid-20s. I think she had been married six or seven months. And well...you know what they say about that seven month itch....

So, she decided to have her husband killed. And she told her lover he should hire someone. He promptly called the police, which is a smart move. People always say if someone is cheating with you on their spouse, if you get married, they'll probably cheat on you. So, maybe his logic was he'd eventually be killed by this pyscho.

The police did the usual things. They wired him, got her on tape numerous times saying she was sure she wanted him dead. (She wasn't just sure, she was "5,000 % sure"). She gave him $1,200 to buy a gun and find someone."

Now, the part that confuses me is the part that had been all over TV yesterday. All these cops staged a fake crime scene. They get her out there and tell her that her husbands been murdered.

She starts screaming and balling (and actually does a good job acting, too). One tall, goofy looking young cop with a shaved head, keeps looking all around. He's about as confused as I was watching this.

A few seconds later they tell her that she's under arrest, and that he's alive. Which really confused the hell out of me.

I could understand them pretending the husband was murdered, to see if she would then give the boyfriend more money to pay off the supposed hitman.

But what's the point of spending all this time and money, having a fake crime scene, just to tell her a few seconds later?

A few other things about this entire case confused me.

She had her husband change the condo, so it would be all in her name and not both of their names. Well, if she was planning to kill him, why did she bother doing that? Didn't she fear he'd get suspicious? And why would he even do that to begin with?

Now, that guy that was on his honeymoon in Australia. He thought he was doing it smart. He unplugged his new brides air hose and she sunk to the bottom of the ocean and died. The problem for him was a few people photographed him doing that. And he was some scuba diving instructor trained in rescuing people. And he was swimming up to the surface while she sank to the bottom.

But there's something about that case that bothered me. He only got a year in prison.

And with this current case, something is also bothering me. This woman wasn't locked up. A judge decided she could be under "house arrest."

I sure hope if she goes out and kills her former lover (or super glues parts of his body, or cuts parts off), that this judge is held accountable.

Nobody accused of attempted murder, with this much evidence, should be allowed to just go home.
