Our Neighborhood's Association
>> For instance, they like you to keep your dog on a lesh and pick up his messes, That's not just an association rule. It's the law in Oceanside.— July 11, 2009 9:12 p.m.
Stupid Cops and the Stupid People That Hate Cops
Here's what I gather from the police report and media accounts. Assume you're a homeowner and a sheriff's deputy walks into your house. He does not have a warrant, he does not ask your permission to enter, and he does not inform you why he is there. He asks for your surname because he can read your first name on a name tag. When he asks for your age, you ask why he needs to know that. Obviously you're wondering why he's there. Is it to inform you of a family member injured in an accident, to arrest you or for some other purpose? So it's reasonable to ask why the deputy wants that information. The accounts vary but Shari Barman said she was detained after asking that question - apparently being uncooperative in the eyes of the sheriff's deputy. The official report said he was attempting to inform her there was a complaint when he started asking questions. It does not say he informed her there was a complaint *before* asking for identifying information.— July 11, 2009 9:10 p.m.
