Key Freak Caught
Pete, you're like a living, 3D/24-7 documentary, aren't ya? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bu… Ya learn something new (but not necessarily legal) every day. :)— February 14, 2010 9:33 a.m.
I Suck at Vacationing - Part Dos - Redemption
I used to live 10 minutes from DFW, aka HELLport. The gate changes are never ending, and always on the opposite end of the airport from where you are. The place is so damn huge you have to sprint like O.J. to make your flight. Glad ya made it home. I'm sure the kitties' tails are doing the snakey wave, pleased to have you back. :)— February 13, 2010 9:28 p.m.
John Mayer's Pie Hole
You guys go ahead and keep confessing. I'll just sit here and pretend I wasn't eeeeeven around back then. Thank God I've always been camera shy. No pictures. Didn't happen. :)— February 13, 2010 8:59 p.m.
My Brunch With Yoko
Yoko is Yoda. :) A wonderful glimpse of an intriguing woman. Glad you posted this, Jay. It's a smile in itself.— February 13, 2010 8:46 p.m.
I Suck at Vacation - Part One
Mmmm-mmm-mmm. Somewhat travel-related -- Watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, and some poet/rapper dude (who's probably incredibly famous) just came out with this line: "Don't let your luggage define your travels." Holy smokes. That's some good stuff right there.— February 12, 2010 11:18 p.m.
Ladies, please! You're in public!
Well, cuttlefish are "among the most intelligent invertebrates." They're apparently not squid, but are related to them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuttlefish Look at this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Metasepia_pfeff… Pretty cool, no? The cuttlefish even has a connection to poetry: "Eugenio Montale's ground-breaking debut collection of poetry Cuttlefish Bones (Ossi di seppia) was published in Turin in 1925. Montale, who grew up in Liguria along the Mediterranean Sea, was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1975, for his long and prolific career. Cuttlefish Bones remains one of the best-known and influential collections of 20th-century Italian poetry.[citation needed]" -- (also from the Wiki page). PBS's Nova calls them "brainy and bizarre" and "wily suitors." http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/camo/— February 12, 2010 11:11 p.m.
I Suck at Vacation - Part One
Uh-oh. There's a "next," Grant? Somehow I get the feeling it's not going to be good news. And with all the globe available to traipse around on, why do you keep going to the same place, which evidently bores you to death and drives you nuts?— February 12, 2010 10:52 p.m.
I Suck at Vacation - Part One
A laycation is similar to a honeymoon. :) Baycation (going to San Francisco), Maycation (haven't decided if you're going or staying home), Daycation (calling in to work to goof off), Raycation (getting a little sun).— February 12, 2010 10:29 p.m.
Back in the Spotlight
If you really want to read reviews of Mystic River, SD, there are plenty here, written by critics who aren't shy about posting theirs: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mystic_river/ Numerous trailers for it are at IMDB. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327056/ Also available at Netflix, of course. http://www.netflix.com/WiMovie/Mystic_River/60031… Regrettably, it's not available for Instant Viewing, or I'd take a second look at it this afternoon. I haven't seen it since it came out, and don't remember it that well. Nominated for a healthy bunch of Oscars, including Best Picture, both Tim Robbins and Sean Penn won for their roles. And despite the fact that Duncan does not sound terribly enthusiastic about it here, he evidently gave the film 5 stars. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/movies/5654/— February 12, 2010 3:35 p.m.
John Mayer's Pie Hole
Hey, mah girl Jess IS from TEXAS, ya know. ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPXVGQnJm0w&NR=1 As for Jessica's response: http://www.tmz.com/2010/02/11/jessica-simpson-lau… *snicker* Nothing quite like rocking the world of a self-proclaimed "sexpert." I mean, I would suppose it would be sort of gratifying, I guess. I wouldn't actually KNOW, of course... ;)— February 12, 2010 3:08 p.m.
