Sweetwater board candidate stumps on civility
Wake up parents and voters that live in Mr. Cartmill's district. You deserve better representation! I will pass along this excellent article by Mrs. Luzzaro to as many people as I can. It is time to force retirement on this fellow.— September 25, 2014 10:28 a.m.
These are the monsters, Mayor Cox
Sjtorres, Pat Aguilar is a councilmember that will actually work with the community. She voted against the Lake Pointe project at first reading. The combination of the travesty of Olympic Pointe and Lake Pointe will be a black eye on Chula Vista. Look at Olympic Pointe. Once envisioned as a resort overlooking the Otay Lakes. Now a disgusting mess of much too high of density apartments. Where I grew up, that kind of development was low income and called "the projects" So much for what was called "The best vacant land available in Eastern Chula Vista" Now the Olympic Training Center is in trouble and looking for a bailout. I love Chula Vista but hate what was done at our Eastern Border!— September 20, 2014 5:54 p.m.
Pimp hand strong in Chula
What a nest of rats! WE NEED AN EXTERMINATOR, QUICK!— August 26, 2014 3:03 p.m.
Who’s minding the jewels?
My question must be about the term "net cash savings"? Does that mean that after paying off any debt the district owes on the properties, the profit (if any) would be split? Aren't they all underwater? Lots and lots of questions around the soap opera "As the worms turn" Keep digging and the buried truth will someday be found.— July 11, 2014 5:17 p.m.
Are we fluoridated? Or not?
David, We were with you at the Sweetwater Authority meeting in Chula Vista when the majority of board members rejected the residents and voted for the money. Now, it is being reported that it is a requirement to fluoridate drinking water. That just can not be true, can it? Thanks for keeping up the fight for non-poisonous water!— June 5, 2014 9:50 p.m.
No teachers’ union, no political agendas…
This sounds too much like Alliant University. Blow a lot of smoke, make promise after promise with little to deliver while sucking up the tax dollars. Grifters and con men are flocking to Chula Vista because of the easy money.— May 2, 2014 9:50 p.m.
What are we doing today that will make people of the future think we’re idiots?
All fine comments. I might add becoming involved with your community and local government. You CAN make a difference. You CAN raise your voice to make things better. It takes a little more commitment and willingness to understand the issues and above all, VOTE.— February 26, 2014 9:59 p.m.
No tough justice for former Southwestern College official
I suppose someone should take a long look at the judge's community ties, campaign contributions, etc. Oh, wait, Hear no evil, See no evil and Sweep the corruption under the carpet. No problem, it's business as usual in Chula Vista.— January 8, 2014 6:44 p.m.
Sweetwater school district invites more suspicion
To all of the frequent posters on Susan Luzzaro's articles: We are all in agreement that the SUHSD needs massive reform and a change in leadership and direction. The problem is that all of you are mostly only getting the attention of each other when the general public needs to be involved. Is there one person willing to be the leader of this group? Can we organize and make our voices heard beyond an internet presence? Do any of you want to serve on the Sweetwater Board? I greatly admire your passion but the need to spread out into the community is growing by the day. Please respond to this post because the alternative is to watch the same old unethical representatives get re-elected. By the way, I personally pledge to bring this up at city council and hope others will join me.— December 23, 2013 2:04 p.m.
Cops kick out public from Sweetwater board meeting
Tim Tim--You are all Democrats?? If we are paying for the ACA then a new district office should be ok also?? Your logic defies, uh, logic. The voters did not elect you to act in lockstep and in secret. The Brown act is important to everyone but is a bother to the Sweetwater Board?? Bertha and Pearl did not get their usual kickback, does that mean that you and Jim, Arlie and Brand did?? Finally, the protests that night were about the union concerns but was much more than that. The community as a whole is sick and tired of the bad decisions, secret plans, questionable dealings, etc. that you and your board believe is in the community's best interest. If you were to do the right thing, then you would all resign.— October 23, 2013 11:09 a.m.
