Will Southern Cal Newspapers Combine?
The whole U.S. is headed for a Depression of a magnitude nobody will believe. It is a major house of cards and the debt coupled with all the derivatives, will crush everything. I think the DOW could see 4000-5000, housing down another 50% or more.... The system is broken....the only reason it didn't crumble already was due to the massive stimulus money coming in. ========== Dollar bubble, debt bubble, both are goimng to burst soon, and when it does clear the decks.— August 4, 2011 11:43 a.m.

Chamber of Commerce Backs Pension Reform
How much do they put in? How much does the City match? What are the investment choices? Then the real wild card: what does the future hold? ====================== Good points. The BEST 401K matches I ever saw in the private sector was 6%, but that was 20+ years ago. Many went to 3% matches, but most today have NO MATCH. All self funded in the private sector for most employees today. I think a good match, like 10%-15% would be excellent, and could be afforded by the city. That is far better than anything ever offered in the private sector, but certainly less than a current muni DB plan where you can retire as early as age 50.— August 3, 2011 10:41 p.m.
Chamber of Commerce Backs Pension Reform
It is sad it has come to this, but the gov employees took greed one step too far. They are already paid more and have far better fringe benefits, and bullet proof job security.— August 3, 2011 4:24 p.m.

Buff Bandits
Let the cops do what they are paid to do, i.e. investigate. They can be much better at that than you are. ====== They will not investigate it.— August 2, 2011 11:52 p.m.
Buff Bandits
Regardless of what the card issuer is doing, if you have a real lead on the identity of the offender, you could go to the cops ===================== I had $2K used on my card, and I KNEW who the guy was because he used the card to pay his $2K cell phone bill, cops didn't do a thing! CC fraud seems to be a very low priority on the PD criminal activilty list, even when several thousand dollars are at stake and the case appears to be a slam dunk, as was mine.— August 2, 2011 11:52 p.m.
