Alleged Oceanside gang members indicted
If you search the last name on the list of indicted individuals, you discover the two subject motels. Both are on North Coast Hwy. One is low-cost national brand. If you read the Tripadvisor reviews it's clear these properties were places where drug deals and other crimes were committed. The reviewers make clear their disgust of the rooms and the activities around the properties.— February 12, 2017 11:35 a.m.
Trump/Navarro saber-rattling has already shaken up China
Nixon did a lot of good things. In 1972, he reopened America's relations with China. And he signed one of the first treaties limiting the deadly nuclear arms race. He also largely ended segregated classes in the south, revenue sharing, he ended the draft for soldiers for Vietnam, he created new anti crime law and put into affect a new environmental program - he is largely responsible for the Environmental Protection Agency. He was the only President who was able to achieve a balanced national budget. Trump may destroy the EPA, bring us to the brink of (if not in) a nuclear war, and chill our relations with China and other nations. Trump is creating a division instead of unity. Nixon may have been paranoid and was forced to resign because of a cover-up. But Trump will never achieve anything close to the good deeds that Nixon did. Trump cannot be compared to any president. To do so is an insult to all the presidents who served with dignity and honor.— February 12, 2017 10:56 a.m.

Trump/Navarro saber-rattling has already shaken up China
Two scary quotes: Steve Bannon (March 2016); "The United States and China will fight a war within the next 10 years over islands in the South China Sea, and “there’s no doubt about that.” Rex Tillerson (January 2017); “We’re going to have to send China a clear signal that, first, the island-building stops and, second, your access to those islands also is not going to be allowed,” “They are taking territory or control or declaring control of territories that are not rightfully China’s.”— February 10, 2017 9:27 a.m.
La Jollans complain about airport noise
The noise problem is occurring in other cities where Metroplex (NextGen) airspace optimization is being deployed. In L.A. County, residents of Westside communities have been complaining about increased noise. Last year Los Angeles City Councilman Steve Bonin wrote an angry letter to the FAA about his constituents concerns. "'To put it bluntly, the FAA's answer is pure B.S.,' Bonin wrote this week to two members of Congress who represent the noise-affected areas, including Pacific Palisades, Mar Vista and Culver City. 'There's no way they are being honest with me or the people I represent,' Bonin told U.S. Reps. Ted Lieu and Karen Bass. Lieu is part of the Quiet Skies Caucus of Congress and has co-sponsored bills to increase local authority over aviation noise." (89.3 KPCC News). In a March 2016 story in the Washington Post, "overall noise complaints tripled between 2014 and 2015." "Many residents blame the increase in noise to the Federal Aviation Administration’s upgrade of its flight navigation system, known as NextGen. The multi-billion dollar initiative is designed to modernize the nation’s air traffic control systems by switching from radar to satellite navigation." "The shift enables planes to fly more direct routes, saving fuel and reducing carbon emissions. But in some parts of the country, it has meant more noise for people on the ground — and not just in the District." (WaPo By Lori Aratani March 7, 2016)— February 10, 2017 9:13 a.m.

Doug Manchester to be Bahama Papa for U.S.?
Well Manchester has a home there. He'll make an interesting cocktail ambassador. It cost him over a million dollars in campaign contributions. Plus he'll get that cool black U.S. Diplomatic Passport. There has been several diplomatic appointments to people who had never visited the country they were being appointed to.— February 8, 2017 9:19 a.m.

Perfectly good fishing boat sabotaged
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale a tale of a fateful trip, that started from this tropic port, aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailin' man, the Skipper brave and sure, five con-artists set sail that day, for a three hour tour, a three hour tour. The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew the Minnow would be lost. The Minnow would be lost.— February 2, 2017 10:45 p.m.
