Tip Top Meats
If you're looking for meat of any kind, this is the place. Not only are the butchers helpful, courteous, and smart, the in-house restaurant serves a lot of food for a little money. I recommend the Big John Breakfast (their french toast is amazing, too) and the Big John Burger. I'm generally not a fan of German food in general, but this place is one of my all-time favorites. Amazing food - I've gotten a Kobe burger and a ribeye, bit too expensive but very good quality. The burger has to be the best one I've had (and I've eaten a lot of 'em), and the ribeye was up there with some of the best restaurant steaks. Still, I've had better steaks cooked at home from Tip Top Meats in Carlsbad.— January 18, 2009 3:28 p.m.
