Shames sues UCAN
Shames is merely practicing the famous Rahm Emanuel tactic: "Never let a crisis go to waste" as well as an O'Bama behavior ....blame the other guy, or it's all the other guy's doing... This ridiculous notion of misspelled accounts with large amounts of money or, not paying bar dues and avoiding continuing educational requirements are just some other signs of the arrogance and greed of this man. While he may have been an ethical person once, those traits disappeared a long, long time ago. Sadly, as is the case with most white collar criminals, few are ever caught and for those who are, the punishment rarely, if ever, fits the crime.— January 5, 2013 12:11 a.m.
Guaderrama out as Paso Robles police chief
Paso Robles just dodged a bullet, too bad they don't realize how lucky there are.— January 4, 2013 11:46 p.m.
Former cop back in court, the good and the bad
As usual the Rex the wonder dog/surfpuppy619 provides inaccurate information. California voters passes Prop 36 nearly 12 years ago. The law is a drug diversion program specifically design to keep people out of jail/prison and get the into supervised treatment programs. Surfdog...one of your more educated peers published some very helpful information about the program on their website: http://www.shouselaw.com/proposition-36.html A very simple search found the information in a matter of moments. So there was no gift here, just the District Attorney's office following the law as set forth by the will of the electorate.— October 13, 2012 4:59 p.m.
Former Councilwoman Pleads Guilty to Embezzling $3.5 Million
To get some perspective Don, what would you say is the percentage of corrupt corporate finance folks who are doing what you say..."steal[ing] from the shareholders and IRS to line the pockets of top management"? And do you believe for those who do these acts of thievery; Is the behavior is one of casual opportunity, well planned and executed embezzlements, simple greed and financial envy or something else?— September 15, 2012 7:42 a.m.

Oh, I don't. Maybe it was intentional. Up until last week I had never seen $125k in fireworks detonate in 15 seconds. Have you? Whrere other than wonderful San Diego could you say you saw more than 12,000 shells on the bay, and another 4K in IB explode all at once. I won't forget this 4th of July anytime soon. However, if my memory begins to fade there are lots of free video clips of the "event" on You Tube. I'm just wondering if there is satellite video of the event. Might have looked similar to a suitcase nuke going off from space.— July 13, 2012 3:01 a.m.
Creation of a Monster, John Gardner
It's worse then people realize. The Megan's law website only list the felony sex offenders on the screens the public may see. Those convicted of misdemeanor sex crimes are excluded by statute. In addition there are various ways to go about getting yourself removed from public display by going through the courts. So instead of getting the full picture the public can be lulled into a sense of security, not knowing the next door neighbor likes to expose himself (314.1 Cal Penal Code) But the even scarier part, mere possession of Child Ponography in California is still a misdemeanor. (Cal PC 311.11)— July 6, 2012 1:57 a.m.

UCAN Lays Off Two
What was once a nobel person and cause has been consumed by greed and ego. A person now just a hollowed out shell praying to the almighty dollar of consumption. At this point redemption doesn't seem possible for the agency or one if its founders.— June 6, 2012 7:38 a.m.
Husband Who Bombed Wife Gets Life Sentence
In 20 years the People of California should be afraid for their lives IF this, a person who should not even be consider as being human, is released from prison. Hopefully we will have even stronger laws regarding notification of imminent release of these felons from prison in future. For the family and victims of this miscreant, now is the time to heal and begin anew. May peace, prosperity and wellness find you and your loved ones.— June 6, 2012 7:27 a.m.
