The Dark Knight clocks in
potzy, that's what i get for posting at 1:30 a.m. the seafood comment made little sense. my point was that i would NOT be able to be a food critic, because to dislike a type of food (seafood), I don't see how that's possible. and, if it was true dunc didn't like comic book movies of any kind, that would seem odd to me. but, since it was shown he did give positive reviews to those films mentioned, none of that matters. a good point was also brought up about all those movies receiving pretty negative reviews (aside from Iron Man, which was good...and got 90% or better on Rotten Tomatoes, which is THE guide to go to for what critics are saying about a film). on a side note, i agree on Departed. that movie had so many problems, i can't imagine why so many people loved it. although, jerry maguire and english patient were great! larry flynt, not only highly overrated, but the whole point of the film trying to show that he was a crusader for free speech, is just ridiculous. the guy was a smut peddler. not that there's anything wrong with that. i just didn't like it playing up the fact that there's "free speech" when that's hardly what he was doing and fighting for.— August 7, 2008 12:37 a.m.
Lawn Mower Man
I like how we can comment on fumber, and be sure that he's reading. Even though he supposedly hates my blog, he continues to log on to read it. Yeah, I'm the same way, but it's getting harder and harder to laugh. When I hear things like the woman that shot and killed her preacher husband in the back, yet she retains custody of her kids. The same way OJ got to keep custody of his kids. Oh well, the woman did say the guy was horrible to her. Forced her to wear high heels and stalkings. That, sounds like one horrible husband.— August 7, 2008 12:27 a.m.
The Cross Controversy
I always thought if there was a God, he/she, should act like the God did in Oh God. A George Burns figure snapping one liners like he's working the Catskills. And chomping on a fine Cuban cigar.— August 6, 2008 12:50 a.m.
Lawn Mower Man
Holy crap Fred, that was a funny post. Incredible. I mean, I'm guessing the lawnmower did have a history of...well, destroying sprinkler heads. Killing lots of bugs, and a few reptiles. Don't even gut me started on the noise complaints. Regarding my confession...well, it's a bit X-rated, so I can't give you all the details. But I had a key to my moms condo. During one of her "divorce" periods. I brought a girlfriend there. Not sure why...we were just in the area, she had a big screen TV, we rented a movie and thought we'd watch it there. The movie ended. My mom was still an hour away from coming home from work. We got romantic. And, my mom didn't walk in on us. But walked in afterwards. That's all I can really say, but I called my mom and confessed to some things she pointed out in the living room, and why they were the way they were.— August 6, 2008 12:44 a.m.
The Cross Controversy
Well, first I have to say...if you have a religious nut telling you your masterbation is "wrong", I have to wonder...are you masterbating on their front lawn or something? I'm been lucky in life, in that I've come across religious people (Christians, Catholics, most religions), that don't preach to me or try to persuade me to show up at their church. And, very rarely do topics of a religious nature come up, because, I think...they see my eyes glaze over. My Christian friend Joe, was once a Protestant. And, he and I had a huge fight when they wanted someone that was gay drummed out of their church. It was a four day argument. I wanted to know why "his" God created a gay person, and they didn't want to accept him the way he was (you can only imagine the directions that went). Now he's a Christian. Goes to jails, talks to prisoners. Whatever. If it makes him feel good to do that. But, we keep our conversations to old movies and rock bands we like, since we don't agree on anything regarding "religion". Sometimes I'll meet someone that's very interesting, like this woman who was friends with folks at the Reader. She was a Christian, and very friendly. Not preachy at all. And it was I, asking her questions, about her beliefs. It was a nice conversation. I remember one Christian dude at the post office, had to be talked to by the supervisor, because he was always trying to convert people. He told me this long story about being in the Navy, and he told this other guy he should go to church. The guy didn't want to and the next day, he was beheaded by a helicopter. I said, "I don't get it. Was that because he didn't believe in God, and didn't go to your church." He smiled and said, "I believe so, yes." I laughed. I couldn't help it. When I was done laughing, I said "Well, then I don't want a part of a God that does that. And, if by saying that some helicopter decapitates me, oh well. Then you'll have another story to tell the next guy you bug about this crap." I don't think he liked that. But, what he liked less than my comments, is probably the fact that I didn't lose my head when I left the building. And that, is what makes some people sick.— August 5, 2008 12:38 a.m.
Friends Don't Let Friends....Do Stupid Things
I was at a dog party. Geez, I've officially hit every imaginable theme there is. And, a service dog had that vest. Just as I was about to bend over and pet it, I saw that it said not to. Great point. Regarding car alarms, I'm surprised so many of them have gotten in check. I remember they would always go off if you walked too close to a car. That doesn't happen as much anymore, although a Camaro pulling out the other day, was so loud, it started off an alarm next to me. My girlfriend and I met at Tio Leo's about 10 months ago for dinner. I got there before her, and saw as she got out of her car. A waitress was walking in front of her car as she set the alarm, and I told her the poor woman jumped about 10 feet. She didn't realize. Again, as long as you point out stuff to your friends/loved ones, all is good. It's the idiots in the world that don't care, or think about others. Fumber, your opinions on all of this.— August 5, 2008 12:26 a.m.

Equal Rights For Women? Thumbs Down!
Trestles...since you often correct me, I'll start with correct you again. The phrase is "I couldn't care less." Not "I could care less" because that would mean that you, well, COULD care less. Along with that line in your opening, you say your only wish is for me to spell the names of the "children" properly. What is that? Who the hell really cares about the names of the children? If some famous celebrity named their kid "Proxy pilot inspector toe jam dweezil moonunit sputnik crater face jupitor moon beam," and I get one of the names wrong, I really don't care. Maybe that's why they should've named their kid Mike instead of Dweezil. Oh wait, I forgot. That's what Gails toe was called, therefore it's a good name. You already explained that. To answer your question...if the police and prosecutors tried someone that is found innocent, no...I do not think the police/prosecutors/judge should be held accountable for anything, UNLESS they did things like....in the case of the Limbergh baby (I won't make an attempt at using that babies name, I know how you get if I'm wrong). The prosecutors were so sure they had the right guy (he used the marked ransom money...which he found in his garage; as he stated, from a man he rented the garage and a room out to). They planted wood from the ladder that was used to kidnap the baby. They even had a handwriting expert say it wasn't the same handwriting (his vs the ransom note), so they erased the note, changed some letters, to make them match better). The guy was then executed. All for finding money in his garage, and having a story that didn't seem to fly (they couldn't find the guy, named something like Mr. Fish, who supposedly rented the room out to). In that instance, yes. All the people involved (one of them was General Schwarkopfhfhflse (sp?) dad or grandfather. THey should all be jailed. Because, our system shouldn't be trying to frame the bad guys. If you can't get them on the evidence, then you don't have a strong enough case. But, that being said...believe me, if the prosecutors felt you did it, there was probably a rap sheet on you, you probably had a history of crime, or something. So, if you turned out to be innocent, well...enjoy your freedom. After all, if we go to court to fight traffic tickets, we don't get awarded anything when we prevail. We merely DON'T have to pay some $298 traffic fine. We still missed a day of work, to sit in court and plead our case.— August 4, 2008 4:31 p.m.
Senior Picture Time
You should give us more details in this blog. I remember my senior pictures at Mira Mesa High. Don't know the place, but it was in Hillcrest. I drove down there, and saw two guys kissing. That was a weird site. Then, I locked my keys in my Mustang. My mom, who is the worst driver and the worst and finding anyplace that isn't within a 1 mile radius of our New Salem home, had to drive up to bring my spare keys. She drove passed my car twice. Once, with me in the photography place watching as she looked all around. The second time, with me jumping up and down on the sidewalk, waving her over. And her not seeing, as the maroon colored Oldsmobile stationwagon just drove by. When she found it the third time, she was screaming as she threw my keys at me. Two minutes later I was called in for my photo to be taken. I still managed to smile. And they airbrushed out the two pimples I had on my face. I love professional photographers : - )— August 4, 2008 12:42 p.m.
It was nothing but dirt.
Changing like Mira Mesa...I remember when the only thing in Mira Mesa was...the high school. That Alberto's was a Burger King. And, there was a Vons. Mira Mesa Blvd ended at Parkdale. Now, there's a seafood market on every corner. What the hell???— August 4, 2008 12:38 p.m.
