Lakers Win, State Loses
I'm guessing Flee is fake. But, speaking of breaking stuff...even having the parade and event in the Coliseum, brought out the thugs and losers. Cops and riot police had to come out, as people tried to get in once the place was filled up. They had to shut down certain streets, to make sure people didn't follow the parade into the stadium. What a big waste of money. Yeah, I'll be there on the 23rd.— June 17, 2009 3:47 p.m.
David Letterman Controversy
UPDATE: turned on Letterman last night just as he was doing his Top 10 list. And it was Top 10 things overheard at the Letterman protests. It was pretty funny. So...he's milking this. And enjoying the ratings boost. The funniest thing was catching a few minutes of Sean Hannity yesterday. That guy is really hard to take. But he said how he used to watch Letterman, but ended up realizing that Jay Leno was better because he didn't have an "agenda". Which is obviously just him trying to say this, hoping others will abandon ship on Dave. But the simple fact is...with humor, you would hardly care about how someone leans politically. Because, sure, I've noticed Letterman taking jabs at Bush and Cheney, but he also made jokes about Clinton (and still does). And, when he had Michael Moore on, it wasn't just a lovefest. He asked him some tough questions. So, if someone needs to watch Leno because he's a "nice comedian" go for it.— June 17, 2009 10:32 a.m.
Conspiracy Theories
mike...my bad. i forgot you mentioning you were a vegetarian. well, if you read Case Closed, and don't change to my way of thinking...a vegetarian dinner for you and your wife, on me. regarding barebone...my question would be this. what writer wouldn't want to expose all this? he/she would win awards, and uncover the biggest conspiracy in the history of the world. and, if all those sources as you claim, point to it being whatever you say (bombs planted, government knowing), it really shouldn't be hard to get that out there to the masses. heck, look at Watergate and waht those reporters were able to get. a friggin President resigned. if what you are saying is true (which it's not)...Bush and some officials would be doing some serious jail time.— June 17, 2009 10:29 a.m.
Lakers Win, State Loses
Am I the only one that does agree with her on at least one point? I do think I'm "grammatically perverted." For a number of reasons (which I've explained before). A blog isn't some piece of journalism that appears on newsstands. It's something I'm thinking about, and type out, right before I go to bed. I really don't care if I spell a word incorrectly, or if it's a typo, etc. Don't get me wrong, I want you to be able to read it and figure out what I mean. But if I write "their" instead of "there" or throw in an extra comma, who cares? I'm also grammatically perverted because...well, I don't want to get into details, but let's just say I'm quite fond of semi-colons!— June 17, 2009 10:26 a.m.
Lakers Win, State Loses
aaryn/canon....don't you think it would be a lot more interesting to say what it is you disagree with about the above blog? are those people that are smashing cabs and newspaper stands NOT losers? or, are you just one of those people that...when a cab driver decides someone that looks like the guys that thrashed his cab, wearing a Lakers or Raiders jersey, needs a cab...he drives by. And he's considered some kind of "profiling racist". but, it wasn't a rich person in beverly hills that was smashing his cab. (on a side note: your last two columns have been weak)— June 17, 2009 12:35 a.m.
Conspiracy Theories
I think mike is being sarcastic....hehehehehehe. I think every conspiracy that has happened, has been discovered. If you think that JFK was a conspiracy, seriously...get the book CASE CLOSED. It's an amazing read. And, I'll pay for the cost of the book if after you read it, you don't believe it was a lone gunman. Hell, I'll throw in a steak dinner, too.— June 16, 2009 7:36 p.m.
NBA -- Playoffs and Personalities
Spliff...I'll say it again. I've watched Magic play since he joined the Lakers (never caught him at Michigan State). And I never saw him score a basket, and point at the defense. Or talk smack to them after scoring. The ONLY time I heard him talk, was when a player started up on him first. If he did talk smack, in the thousands of games I watched him play, I never saw it.— June 16, 2009 3:57 p.m.
Conspiracy Theories
refried...SD thinks that we can learn stuff from Spliff. I'm wondering if you "learned" anything from his questioning of the 9/11 "conspiracy". An interesting side note about 9/11: actor James Woods reported the terrorists to the FBI a few weeks earlier, on a flight from LA to New York. I don't remember all the details now, but he said they were in first class and acting suspicious.— June 16, 2009 3:54 p.m.
Lakers Win, State Loses
I don't necessarily disagree with the above statement.— June 16, 2009 3:48 p.m.
LeBron James -- Bad Sport?
Stanley Cup Finals update: Some talk show at 12:25 a.m. last night, said a hockey player didn't shake hands, and how it's much worse in hockey. Apparently they have a big tradition involving the handshake after the game. Which seems a bit odd, as many of these goons punch and beat the tar out of each other during the games!— June 16, 2009 10:05 a.m.
