Storage Wars host Dave Hester spotted at Kobey’s Swap Meet
Wow. $650,000 + is a lot of dough considering he never did anything but whine and moan and try to spoil things for everyone else. He wasn't a host btw, that show didn't have one, but he was the most despicable member of the whole entourage. It did not surprise me to hear he was off the show. I've also seen Hester at Koby's and thought it odd he would spend his day trying to sell his hats, t-shirts and other "Yuuuuuup!" junk, considering how he always bragged on the show about how much money he would make on the stuff he got from the storage sheds. Now, it really doesn't compute if he telling the truth about that paycheck. I don't know what to make of his claims about the show being faked. It's possible, but I think the storage company has some legal responsibility not to touch things in the sheds prior to the advertised auction. It would be something if the producers of the show were found to have "salted" things a bit just to spice it up, but if the bidders did not know it ahead of time, then I don't think it really matters much.

Big border busts
The only thing I can figure is the clinics are buying weed through the back door. Do they (the clinics) have to show documentation to someone regarding their suppliers, quantity, etc.?

The *Lays* of ancient Rome? Whoopee! I didn't know they wrote a book about that.

Stubborn as a mule
Seems to me this outfit forgot to look before they leap. Apparently, no one thought another big horse & pony show was going to be in town at the same time. What are the odds, right? For San Diegans, this was like dueling horseshows. No one was sure which way to go. The other big mistake they made was contracting out most of the production. Their costs soared and with the town unsure of which show to go to, their ticket sales went flat. It didn't help that "Cavalia" out marketed them also. This show was doomed before it got out of the gate.

Should Jack-in-the-Box stay in Mexican foods?
"Communicating the brand" might be a tad easier if they gave the business a name that was actually pronounceable. Qdoba? No comprendo. Also, these fluctuations in sales are all attributed to changes the company makes to menu, price, etc., But I wonder how much of their sales are affected by what else is opening in the neighborhood. For example, Hillcrest has seen five (so-called gourmet) hamburger joints open within the last year. I think everyone is now eating more hamburgers than ever but the stores might be seeing mediocre sales because there are so many for the consumer to choose from.

New pedestrian inspection station soon at Tijuana border
So, the construction site is the size of a football field, but the border agents are crammed into a small room that was once an old betting parlor and what used to be a 40-foot wide pedestrian walkway is now 4 feet across? So, how do you say it in Spanish? W-T-F?

Foie Gras... or Faux Pas?
ptb, I've read Michael Pollen's Omnivore's Dilemma. Great book and I highly recommend it to everyone. I hear what you are saying and I have to say I don't think the farm animals are living like their are in concentration camps, at least not all of them. Even in Pollen's book, he describes farms that are raising chickens "free range." It's just that it's one thing to let farm animals eat to their heart's content, and then eat them, and another to "force feed" a duck, causing their liver to grow to abnormal proportions so we can eat it. Let's face it, there is no way we can ethically justify eating the poor dumb animals, but force feeding is just one step too far for me. It's like the difference between chopping a chicken's head off, or beating it to death. In both cases, you end up with a dead chicken that you can eat; but the issue of how you got there is the thing that might cause some indigestion.

Fabiani and Filner’s Knife Fight?
I hope Filner doesn't have to bring a gun to the knife fight; I think all he needs to do is keep his ol' Buck good and sharp and gut this stadium plan as soon as they try to hang the taxpayers with the bill. I just hope he has the stomach for it.

Foie Gras... or Faux Pas?
No, I don't believe I ever did taste it. But like I said, how good can it be...to justify this?

Alcoholic Pass Trail
This is a great hike. What's better is to go up Rockhouse Canyon and take the trail that goes above the fresh water spring that is there. You might find yourself face to face with a bighorn sheep like I did. I use the photo I took that day as my avatar photo here. Rockhouse Canyon is also loaded with artifacts from the Indians that lived there. Petroglyphs can be found on the north side of the canyon on several facing rocks.

It would be something if the producers of the show were found to have "salted" things a bit just to spice it up, but if the bidders did not know it ahead of time, then I don't think it really matters much.— December 13, 2012 9:50 p.m.
Big border busts
The only thing I can figure is the clinics are buying weed through the back door. Do they (the clinics) have to show documentation to someone regarding their suppliers, quantity, etc.?— December 12, 2012 9:28 p.m.
An even closer look at the trailer for Oblivion
The *Lays* of ancient Rome? Whoopee! I didn't know they wrote a book about that.— December 12, 2012 12:17 p.m.
This show was doomed before it got out of the gate.— December 12, 2012 11:46 a.m.
I think everyone is now eating more hamburgers than ever but the stores might be seeing mediocre sales because there are so many for the consumer to choose from.— December 12, 2012 11:32 a.m.
W-T-F?— December 8, 2012 12:26 a.m.
In both cases, you end up with a dead chicken that you can eat; but the issue of how you got there is the thing that might cause some indigestion.— December 7, 2012 11:53 p.m.
Fabiani and Filner’s Knife Fight?
I hope Filner doesn't have to bring a gun to the knife fight; I think all he needs to do is keep his ol' Buck good and sharp and gut this stadium plan as soon as they try to hang the taxpayers with the bill. I just hope he has the stomach for it.— December 5, 2012 9:46 p.m.
Foie Gras... or Faux Pas?
No, I don't believe I ever did taste it. But like I said, how good can it be...to justify this?— December 5, 2012 5:02 p.m.
Petroglyphs can be found on the north side of the canyon on several facing rocks.— December 5, 2012 4:57 p.m.
