Waiting in the background to be prosecuted, jailed or fined are Nancy Graham, Judie Italiano, Carolyn Smith, Ralph Inzunza, Michael Zucchet, Ron Saathoff and a cast of thousands.
Funny how none of the above are in jail or even fined.

Raccoon Wars
A neighbor had a cat door at his house. When he went to the kitchen to get a drink at night, he encountered on large raccoon eating his cat's food. The neighbor hopped up on his kitchen counter and waited until the raccoon ambled away and left through the cat door. Needless to say that was the end of the open door policy. Over the years I tried to keep goldfish in an outdoor pond. I have given up for the obvious raccoon reasons. Not only do they eat the fish, they knock over the aquatic plants and make a huge watery mess for me to clean up. Anyone who has koi must need to protect them with a screen from these fish eaters. And I am not even sure if this would work as the raccoons have very good working front paws that look like little hands. The raccoons seem seasonal or at least are more of a presence in the summer months. I give them a wide berth at all times due to their sharp claws, bad manners, and fearlessness.— July 15, 2010 8:20 a.m.
Raccoon Wars
We had some almost ripe grapes on vines which were to be picked the next day at the height of their perfection. During the warm summer night I heard scuffling outside. When I turned on the light, 4 very large raccoons were eating the grapes. I tried to scare them off with more light but they did not budge. When their midnight snack was over, they lumbered off into the neighborhood. The ones I saw that evening had to weigh at least 25 pounds and were absolutely fearless.— July 15, 2010 7:52 a.m.

The Straight Poop about that Brown Duck!
You are correct about the money spent by the City to accommodate 4 legged animals and their owners. For example there are free "mutt mitts" provided at Mission Bay Park while bathrooms are closed to humans on a seasonal basis. Grass is reseeded at dog parks and not in other park areas. Special water fountains for dogs and benches in dog parks are also provided. Some are donated but some are on the taxpayers' dimes like the "free" mutt mitts. To say San Diego is "dog friendly" goes way beyond what the City chooses to do for the animals and their owners over others. It would be better to be a dog in America's Finest City than be homeless. Dogs are treated better.— July 14, 2010 6:23 a.m.

What I can't figure out about this entry is who it is about - the deceased or the author who was supposedly not ever posting on the site again. It is certainly puzzling in both regards.— July 14, 2010 6:14 a.m.

The Straight Poop about that Brown Duck!
Great story about a huge citywide problem. Even with the "mutt mitts" provided at no cost to the dog owners, some leave their dog's droppings for all of us to enjoy.— July 13, 2010 7:09 a.m.

Judge Confirms Ruling; Sanders Must Give Deposition
According to the article the prosecutor is not recommending jail time. Inzunza's case on been on appeal for several years. The others whom I mentioned are in various states of not being punished. I would like to see justice spread around in a equal fashion. Who knows how much the SEDC's Carolyn Smith stole in terms of bonuses for herself and others ? Certainly her community never saw much in terms of redevelopment but Councilmember Tony Young seems loathe to shut down SEDC. And we all know that CCDC has no expiration date.— July 9, 2010 7:10 p.m.
