The Straight Poop about that Brown Duck!

Image

Daily, folks in North Park (and most other parts of SD) find that they are on the receiving end of other folks dog droppings! This pile was left behind on July 4th and because it's Owner was too lazy to pick up after their "Best Friend", others (in this case a child), got to step in it and spread it around as they walked by!

Most Owners that do pick up after their Dogs are always sympathetic and some even stoop to pick up Other Owner's Poop, very frustrated that a small percentage of Owners give all dog lovers a crappy name! Home Owners that take pride in their lawns are less sympathetic because these same Pet Owners just "don't give a ship" and when confronted come up with some lame excuse, like "I don't have a bag" or " Oh, sorry" as they and their pet move to yet another drop off location!

Because Man's Best Friend clearly needs help keeping San Diego clean, some residents in North Park have installed plastic bag holder and Poop waste cans to make it easier for Man's Best Friend's Owner to be responsible but nothing seems to help when Man's Best Friend's Owner refuses to scoop their own Poop!

1 Do I detect a lisp in your comment?

Ode to Other Dog Owner' S***

They "Duck" their own pet's poop and then they always scoot 'cause they don't give a hoot!

funny founder...in actuality i do have a lisp that i spent years in public speaking trying to remedy....hahahahahahahahahaha

but i do think there are conscientious dog owners who always have a plastic bag in their pocket

cute poem

I salute everyone in SD that "Brown Bags" it...

They are both their Dogs and "OUR" Best friends...!

I'm only trying to ID those Owners that "Don't stoop to (pick up) poop" as the LAZY Owners that are making our Neighborhood's Crappy for the rest of US...

July 12, 2010

Great story about a huge citywide problem. Even with the "mutt mitts" provided at no cost to the dog owners, some leave their dog's droppings for all of us to enjoy.

July 13, 2010

Grasca San Diego has many HUGE problems and most of them are caused by the same reasoning that poop gets left instead of picked up. Many folks think they don't have to be responsible because, well, THEY ARE SPECIAL and just can't be bothered, aka the "Me, Me Me" mentality.

Dog POOP is just a perfect example of how SOME folks in San Diego are taking advantage of the rest of US because they can. Why are we even talking about a new stadium when San Diego is in HUGE debt and our Leadership cannot even locate much less fund a homeless shelter in every Council District? If Dog waste is a HUGE health concern how about the Human waste that is deposited all over our City SEVERAL TIMES A DAY, that NOBODY picks up; in fact we don't even provide "mitts" for those homeless folks that need to go...! Perhaps we all should start to refer to our SD Homeless folks as Bathroom & Homeless; that way we all would have to accept responsibility for their current situation and demand that it be changed ASAP. Access to Public bathrooms should be a right not a privilege; if we can provide poop cans and dog parks, why not also provide public "Cans" for those that need to "Go", because when you need to go you REALLY need to GO?

Special people with special access are changing San Diego at an ever increasing rate and I'm not just referring to our money problems... It's high time that EVERYONE in San Diego start doing their part to keep San Diego Clean & Healthy for all of US to enjoy, not only the SPECIAL folks!

You are correct about the money spent by the City to accommodate 4 legged animals and their owners. For example there are free "mutt mitts" provided at Mission Bay Park while bathrooms are closed to humans on a seasonal basis. Grass is reseeded at dog parks and not in other park areas. Special water fountains for dogs and benches in dog parks are also provided. Some are donated but some are on the taxpayers' dimes like the "free" mutt mitts. To say San Diego is "dog friendly" goes way beyond what the City chooses to do for the animals and their owners over others. It would be better to be a dog in America's Finest City than be homeless. Dogs are treated better.

July 14, 2010

Now is the time for San Diego to do for our Homeless at least what it does for our Dogs... provide sanitary places CITY WIDE for them to GO!

BTW: Today at 2:00 p.m. a permanent "Homeless Services" facility is being "considered" by the Land Use and Housing Committee, Chaired by CD3's Todd Gloria ([email protected] or 619-236-6633).

July 14, 2010

Everyone in San Diego needs a place to GO!

You might ask your colleagues what the homeless are supposed to do that are not anywhere near downtown when they need to GO?

At least one public bathroom in every Council district seems a basic minimum number; other American Cities have the same issues and they have found creative solutions, what is going on in San Diego that prevents US doing the same?

I suggest that you challenge your colleagues to provide a time line and announce at every Public meeting both how long this PROJECT has being delayed and also the estimated amount of human waste that has been dumped instead of flushed! Maybe when the size of the pile get larger than the Stadium or the Convention Center, folks will decide to DO something about it instead of just talk about this crappy situation!

I was walking one of my dogs in Kit Carson Park when SHE squatted, then we took off. A city employee in a white truck pulled up and yelled at me. He tore a plastic bag off a roll, and insisted that I pick "it" up, even though I was trying to tell him that SHE was peeing

I had the same problem with a busy body neighbor up the street. Though my female was NOT doing a No 2, but was peeing, and this idiot started to read me the riot act-and even after I tried to point out to this jerk the situation he still was mouthy-I was about 2 seconds fom pounding him into the ground- and would have if the jerk wasn't in his 60's. But I did set him straight, and Mr Mouth knows better than to shoot it off at me ever again.

We all live in constant fear of the "Brown Duck" and because there is so much of it flying around these days, folks are getting "gun shy"...

BTW: Try telling "those" folks, that you did leave your sponge at home but you have plenty of bags with you, in case your dog decides to take a dump...

  • Are You Urine -

Maybe this, is what we all need, For all the dogs, that have just pee'd

Dog owners, will be required Unless, it's someone they've hired

To carry, a big hydration pack Making up, for something, we now lack

That they can use to dilute, their dogs pee Which is something, our grass would love to see
