Good to know that the republicans in the house remain focused on jobs!— November 4, 2011 9:30 a.m.
Food Carts Get a Little Push from City Hall
Gee, maybe they should give a break to all the businesses that lost money when SDGE turned off the power recently.— November 4, 2011 7:12 a.m.
Occupy San Diego Camps Raided
Billions stolen by the banks and Wall Street & no one goes to jail. 50 people peacefully protesting & they bring out the riot squad, where is the justice?— October 28, 2011 3:37 p.m.
Hedgecock Endorses DeMaio for Mayor
If he's the serious candidate we are in for trouble— September 23, 2011 5:10 p.m.
Hedgecock Endorses DeMaio for Mayor
In a rational society having Hedgecock's endorsement would be a kiss of death. The blessing of a former mayor forced to resign due to his involvement in the Dominelli scandal isn't anything to brag about. De Maio's attacks on government employees are hypocritical coming from someone who has spent his adult life in government and who earned his fortune off of government contracts.— September 23, 2011 11:09 a.m.
Paradise Plundered tells San Diego story
Carl DeMaio is exposed as a carpetbagger who made all of his money through government contracts and now wants to demonize government and it's employees.— September 20, 2011 5:18 p.m.
Paradise Plundered tells San Diego story
The book is available on Amazon, I just finished reading it yesterday. The documentation of SD's long history of robbing Peter to pay Paul (Peter being the pension fund, Paul being the developers) is worth the price of the book by itself. As early as the mid 1960's the city was taking money from the pension fund to build the Civic Concourse downtown and they haven't stopped since. The book may upset those that still believe that Pete Wilson was the best mayor ever.— September 20, 2011 1:12 p.m.
City Audits Mean Big Savings
33.6 million Potential savings, what are the actual savings? Typically audit findings are reduced before the actual amounts are agreed to. I really hate this new Captcha thing!— September 7, 2011 3:02 p.m.
Helicopters Hovering Over University Heights
They like to spend a lot of time over the Rolando/College area as well. When they broadcast what they are looking for you can never tell if it's a lost child or a murderer due to the noise from the helicopter. I'd love to see a log of what they are doing since most of it appears to be routine flyovers, never hear anything in the news about what they were doing in the neighborhood. I can usually set my watch by when they will fly over.— August 31, 2011 1:01 p.m.
Nucor's Death by China, co-authored by Peter Navarro
China is flooding the US with substandard products claiming to be stainless steel. I have several expensive knife sets & other kitchen utensils made from chinese stainless steel. Every one of them has in a very short time developed pits and rust spots. American companies such as Revere Ware now have their products made in China with substandard materials and continue to charge high prices for the products.— August 24, 2011 1:03 p.m.
