Weeping for Coco
Wow. Sex between a 16 year old boy and a man at a minimum 10 years his senior, described as "consensual." A teacher, a man to whom a community entrusts their children, presumably not to entice them into sexual liaisons. Such tender concern for the rights of this man and how his future has been affected. Wow.— March 3, 2010 9:26 a.m.
To Stella from Mica: Tales of Beyond the Front Door
I remember the Pickle story. Did you tell us about Peanut?— March 3, 2010 9:09 a.m.

Think God Has Had Enough?
Reminds me of the story Frank McCourt used to tell about his mother. She would be asked to babysit for Jewish families in her neighborhood and when the little tykes were asleep, she would baptize them. He said that there were lots of people raising Jewish children who actually belonged to the Holy Roman Catholic Church. :)— March 2, 2010 7:26 p.m.

No, AG, there is no better writer on this site. But I won't argue with you. :) Now as to your other point: I can't speak for Stella or Mica. Mongoose did write her thread. I just edited it for homegirl. Would that work for Olivia?— March 2, 2010 6:33 p.m.

It is an authentic letter, Chief Scanlon wrote it, just verified with Commander Lawton.— March 2, 2010 2:50 p.m.
"Ghetto" Vons?
The Rite-Aid in my community closed its doors some time ago. They were never a very good fit here anyway. I assume CVS will take it over, which also won't be a good fit. Walgreens would be good, I think.— March 2, 2010 10:54 a.m.

Ooops, little slip, there by the Forum God. Wasn't a Coronado cop fashioning a poem, was a Reader writer who was pretending to write as a Coronado cop. Kind of hard to distinguish fact from fiction? Imagine the other 95% of the brilliant populace that read this distinguished publication. Point made. Yet again.— March 2, 2010 10:52 a.m.
