Lily, Sweet and Silly
Lily has an appointment with a vet on Monday morning. If she has been spayed, they will check for microchipping. Honestly, though, around here, I seriously doubt it. Kathy has taken probably twenty cats out of this block and none of them have been spayed or neutered and many have contagious diseases. Most are feral, but some are tame. The ones that are tame have a better chance at health and good responsibles ownership if they are adopted out via Kathy; she has a rigorous adoption process and charges a substantial fee. If there is an owner who is missing a cat and feels strongly about it, he or she will post notices, or come around the block, and I will find out about it. This has never happened, though.— March 12, 2010 6:38 p.m.
Lily, Sweet and Silly
Yes, I thought of that, but Kathy, who is the FCC person I partner with, feels this way: That a cat who is out without a collar is a stray, and the owner verging on irresponsible. She already came and picked her up. She will take her in to get spayed, then find her a home. I could put up the posters anyway. What do you guys think?— March 12, 2010 6:02 p.m.
Almost Time to Fire Up the Encanto Gas Holder Shredder at SDG&E
I was just watching Erin Brokovich last night, about PG&E liability. BTW, Almost is misspelled in your thread title.— March 12, 2010 5:33 p.m.
Work for a Government and Rake in Bucks
a2zresource,I haven't seen anywhere that SurfPuppy asserts such a thing. Did I miss something? As for who would do the job, apparently thousands of people want them, judging by the number of applicants. The necessity of police and firefighters isn't disputed. Not what they are worth to society, what they are paid by society. A reasonable sum has been suggested. Is there some reason this would not be acceptable?— March 12, 2010 5:22 p.m.

LOLOL!! And here I thought I was being my usual coldly objective and impartial self. jayallen will get a kick out of you saying I'm defending him. :)— March 12, 2010 4:04 p.m.

Oooooookay. lemongroovy, why do I suspect you have an agenda?— March 12, 2010 2:57 p.m.
i guess i just wish...../Pistol Pete
Pistol Pete was an acquired taste? Okay, well, if you want to acquire those kind of tastes, then right on. I personally don't think I ever could "acquire a taste" for someone who in all the months I posted here never said one positive thing about any body, thing, or animal, screamed the N word at every opportunity, denigrated minorities and women with the lowest stereotypes and insults, admitted he avoided paying taxes and was a hacker, turned every thread into as AG said, the Pete Show, was a screaming MeMe, frankly vulgar, coarse, insisted that Daniels was making up her illness, wrote a vile and disgusting sexually explicit post about me and another poster, I mean, please, I could go on, but honestly don't want to give that troll one more brain cell, God bless him.— March 12, 2010 2:28 p.m.
Burning of Bridges
jayallen explained why the article ran when it did. If your point is that the Reader should not have run it at all, sorry, don't agree. It might have been nice to be the first, but didn't work out that way. Oh well. Some people read one and not the other. No one pub owns the news.— March 12, 2010 2:19 p.m.
