Catty, I'd heard something about that, and that the Americanized "English tea" is very different from the English "English tea." I haven't had the shrimp scampi type yet, but if I ever get to England I'll definitely search it out! In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy the bastardized version with those tasty little snacks. ;)

Reader Party at the W

I heard a few "guests who were quite inebriated" stories. I never cease to be amazed at how stupid people allow themselves to become. Having said that, I stalked those poor beauties who were handing out those little plastic martini cups of rum. I grabbed two cups from every tray as it came out. I'm convinced they were primarily sugar and juice, as my buzz remained quite minimal. I also met Navy Wife, she was effervescent and sporting an adorable new do. Were there any scandals? Oh, how I love to hear about scandals. That's the stuff of life. ;)

What's your reaction to California overturning the same-sex marriage ban?

I agree -- Love has nothing to do with marriage, at least not mine. I'm WITH David because I love him. He's WITH me because he loves me. We got MARRIED for practical reasons, like me wanting to change my name, and both of us preferring to have each other as our LEGAL beneficiaries/decision makers should tragedy befall one of us. For the non-religious, marriage is a serious contractual relationship (hence the paper and difficulty of the divorce process) that two people choose to enter into with each other. For better or worse, or until divorce-do-they-part. ;)
