No wonder they went after the bike tracks
Thank you. Proof that there is nothing affordable about affordable housing. Where do those who work in the Walmart economy live? Slums are created by slumlords renting apartments to multiple people.— June 17, 2018 6:24 a.m.
Who cares about 40th and El Cajon?
Since when does violating a law been an issue for the historically corrupt San Diego City Council?— June 16, 2018 6:35 a.m.
No wonder they went after the bike tracks
Just what the hell is "affordable housing"? Are we talking about Section 8 housing? Or an apartment building that charges a couple hundred dollars less than market rate for "low income" residents? I have no idea where all the retail, restaurant and hotel people live. They all can't live in TJ or with their parents. Two people living together making minimum wage can not afford to live in San Diego.— June 16, 2018 6:32 a.m.
Trouble on Garfield Street
Just another dirt bag that needs to go to prison for the rest of his worthless life.— June 16, 2018 6:26 a.m.
North County's dark money triumph
Politicians and wannabe politicians have to have money to run. Few have the grass roots financial support to fund a campaign so they have to rely on big donors and dark money. If elected a politician, if they ever want to serve a second term, has to do the bidding of those big donors. Unless and until we remove dark money, PAC money, independent money and wealthy donor money all politicians will have to do the bidding of the moneyed interests.— June 16, 2018 6:23 a.m.
A thief, a thief, a thief, a thief, a thief...
“She has zero criminal convictions.” So what? One can say that about anyone who commits a crime for the first time. She committed multiple crimes and should pay the consequences. She will learn nothing and will be in court again.— June 16, 2018 6:16 a.m.
Bus rider pet peeves: walking and waiting
I am sure that there are some routes that are busy but very few. Go to the end of the line in La Mesa and you will see huge buses with no one on them. Go to the end of the trolley line in Santee and see the empty cars arrive. I avoid the bus any time I can. From College and El Cajon Blvd. it takes over an hour to get to the west end of El Cajon Blvd. The outlying bus stops are nothing but a pole with a sign. To get to any other outlying area or other city it takes several transfers and, with few exceptions, long waits.— June 14, 2018 6:37 a.m.
Who gave money to San Diego politicians
Politicians are owned and operated by those who have money. No one will ever get reelected if they bite than hand that feeds them. Unless and until big money is removed from politics we will continue to have a government for the rich and by the rich. No one gives money to anyone without expecting a return on their investment.— June 14, 2018 6:30 a.m.
A thief, a thief, a thief, a thief, a thief...
Never use a debit card. With a credit card you can challenge any charge with a debit card your money is gone and you have to argue with the bank to get your money back.— June 13, 2018 7:03 a.m.
Bus rider pet peeves: walking and waiting
The bus system in San Diego has been a joke as mass transit. It could not support itself if not for massive public subsidizes. A person on a bike can get where they are going faster than the bus. There are few, if any, bus shelters for passengers. They squander money on overbuilt buses and upscale equipment. Most of the buses run empty most of the time. For mass transit to work buses, etc, have to run 24/7 and go to places where people work. To get anywhere on a bus it takes hours and if you work nights or weekends you can't get anywhere.— June 13, 2018 6:59 a.m.
