It seems that crap always floats to the top.— February 14, 2018 8:01 a.m.
Past the 560,000-gallon sewage spill tipping point
Note to IB and all others that want to sue our government. The problem is generated in Mexico a sovereign nation. The residents of IB and the US members of a commission can piss and moan all they want to but they can not force Mexico to build and maintain a sewage treatment plant or do anything to clean up the TJ river any more than Trump can make Mexico "pay for the wall".— February 14, 2018 7:54 a.m.
Pacific Beach's high crime problem
Wherever there is a concentration of businesses selling "good times" and booze you can go to the bank on a high crime rate.— February 12, 2018 4:31 p.m.
Trip on a crack, break the city's back
I am sure the lawyer will be glad to look it up for him at $$ per hour.— February 12, 2018 4:24 p.m.
Gas-tax repeal campaign prompts motorists to drive
While I would vote to repeal the "gas tax" I would never sign on to anything that has anything to do with Carl DeMaio.— February 11, 2018 7:12 a.m.
Rabobank banked millions in untraceable cash
I used to live near a Rabobank. I thought it was a stupid name for a bank.— February 10, 2018 6:50 a.m.
Deputies not culpable in cellmate murder case
Also look at government run facilities vs privately run facilities.— February 10, 2018 6:46 a.m.
City time may not be used to complete coursework
Employees will do what they are told to do. It is the supervisors and administrators that insure that the employees are doing the work that they were hired to do. The problem with government is that supervisors and administrators are not held responsible for their failure to their jobs as administrators and supervisors.— February 8, 2018 7:47 a.m.
Alpine High School still doesn't exist
If the projected enrollment will continue to drop thus the reason for not building a high school would it not hold true for the existing K-12 enrollment? Why not build a smaller high school and use temporary buildings to augment the school population as needed? Having said all that there has never been a high school in Alpine. The people who live in Alpine have chosen to take up residence there. No matter when the bought or built or rented or whatever they knew there was no high school. While the GUSHD is corrupt to the core with the board elected from the bible thumping far right wing the residents of Alpine chose to live there and buy into the GUSHD "we will build a high school" lies.— February 8, 2018 7:43 a.m.
Good intentions behind paving of Scripps Trail
Someone once told me that "if you build it you have to maintain it". The City of San Diego has always bent over backwards to accommodate developers but never seem to budget for the maintenance of the roads the developers "give" to the city.— February 7, 2018 10:47 a.m.
