RJD2
Ramble Jon Krohn, aka RJD2, is known for his sample-based electronic hip-hop instrumentals. He’s part of a new school of innovative beat-making pioneers whose versatility involves blending hip-hop, soul, rock, and funk, earning him a reputation as a forward-thinking producer in both underground and mainstream music. He first earned widespread acclaim for his breakout 2002 album Deadringer, though he’s probably best known to most people for his track “A Beautiful Mine,” which became the iconic theme song for AMC’s acclaimed television show Mad Men. He has produced for artists like Mos Def and MF DOOM, and he’s one half of the duo Soul Position with rapper Blueprint. In concert, he’s a skilled turntablist who uses multiple decks to mix his own beats and classic tracks.

Pons
Brooklyn-bred trio Pons plays a mix of no-wave and post-punk, with elements of glam, psych, noise, and surf rock. Their songs feature gritty guitars, pounding dual drums (often without bass), intense vocals, and chaotic, unpredictable structures. Perpetually on tour and anointed by some NYC’s Hardest Working Band, they put on a nearly unhinged theatrical performance, often featuring costumes that help dramatize lyrics that center on consumerism and contemporary paranoia. Highly influenced by theatrical and experimental artists such as David Bowie and Kate Bush, their most recent full-length is a rock opera concept album, The Liquid Self, about a sailor’s descent into madness after being lost at sea. The bill includes trash-glam-punk band Lord Friday the 13th, fronted by Austin-based siblings Felix and Sloane Lenz.

The Mavericks
The Mavericks are masters of blending genres, from Americana and country to rockabilly, Tex-Mex, and Latin rhythms. The group is fronted by fiery singer-guitarist Raul Malo, whose powerful voice can be heard on hits such as “What a Crying Shame,” “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down” (featuring Flaco Jimenez), and “Dance the Night Away” (a big seller in the UK). Celebrated for their energetic live shows and for championing diverse global sounds, they’ve earned awards from a Grammy (for their track “Here Comes the Rain”) to Country Music Association and Academy Of Country Music awards. They released a new album in 2024, Moon & Stars.
