Thee Sacred Souls at Pechanga Arena
August 24
Taking their name as a partial nod to Chicano rock heroes Thee Midniters, Thee Sacred Souls founding duo Alex Garcia and Sal Samano (formerly of Fake Tides) began cutting bedroom demos of rhythm tracks together in 2019. After their first club date, they were signed by Daptone Records producer and co-founder Bosco Mann (Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings), and within days were recording at Mann’s Riverside studio. To match their vintage soul sound, the band records their tracks on vinyl, debuts them in physical form, and only then distributes the singles on music-streaming platforms and YouTube. Last year’s release of their sophomore album, Got A Story To Tell, earned them a performance slot on the Jimmy Kimmel Live late night television show. The concert is headlined by Columbian-American singer-songwriter Kali Uchis, who has won a Grammy, an American Music Award, two Billboard Music Awards, and has been nominated for five Latin Grammys.
