Paean for pans
Accolades and praise for a well put together, researched article that was nicely delivered (“San Diego stupid,” Cover Stories, June 30). Unbelievable (almost) as to just how vacuous and STUPID some people can be . How did this sickness fall upon them I wonder. Gene transfer, early and poor social choices, head trauma ??? Ah well, they will always be with us. It was Thomas Larson, in his July 1 Reader article, that so clearly he pointed out some of San Diego’s more famous “Stupid People”. Nice work Thomas! Intelligent presentation, darkly incisive and perhaps prophetic conclusions. I send my applause.
Fan well-read
I’ve been reading the Reader for years - (up in Encinitas). But the “Stupid” article is the best article I have ever read in the Reader. And ranks right up there with other essay type articles…wayyy up there. I am an avid reader. So to try to convey my appreciation for your talents I can only clumsily say I read a lot. I am an experienced reader and this note to you is from someone who loves well written copy. Excellent!!
Smart news coming?
Hopefully, San Diego Stupid will be followed by San Diego Smart: A Meditation on locals who cause gains for others while deriving no gain and possibly incurring losses for themselves.
Stupidity is easy, Selfless intelligence is challenging, yet far more grok-worthy.
