San Diego area physicians have received discipline from the Medical Board of California.

Jeffrey Douglas Lovin of Del Mar has been placed on probation for five years. In August of 2009 in California, Lovin was charged with a number of law violations including spousal battery, false imprisonment, and reckless driving. He was convicted of spousal battery. Later he was charged with resisting arrest, domestic violence, and other offenses but the charges were dismissed. However, he did not report the charges or arrests to the medical board of Colorado, when he practiced there. He is to undergo psychotherapy.

Leonor Alcarez Ordonez of Chula Vista was placed on probation for six years. She was prescribing a controlled substance, hydrocodone, for her husband but using it for herself. She shall no longer prescribe controlled substances, must abstain from use of them, and must go through psychotherapy.
