i spy thee ever changed chameleon

and oh my willful wilding heart

you breathe a want in me

flung high your shimmering fairie dust

dark the lustful longing as it fell

soft whisper fine hyperbole

allaying every plan discreet

each other virtuous conduct sweet

fast faded into loveless mist

not hampered by your sensuous kiss

cover my grave with heather then

prepare my stone and

pray for me for i have sinned

my inward nature you've sorely pricked

dissolving my resolve lightening quick

i would cry out before i die

but my tears are not bespoken

no token of blameless love

but only the heedless care

of the chameleon's mystery of what's not there
