Take advantage of Balboa Park's (1549 El Prado) free museums this fourth Tuesday of the month.
House of Pacific Relations International Cottages and Hall of Nations is "a consortium of ‘houses’ representing 32 countries. The HPR promotes multicultural goodwill and understanding through educational and cultural programs." Today Turkey will be hosting the Hall of Nations beginning at 11 a.m.
San Diego Hall of Champions Sports Museum is "the nation’s largest multi-sport museum, boasting three levels of memorabilia and 70,000 square feet. The museum offers a state-of-the-art theatre, an interactive media center and fascinating displays on the nation’s favorite sports." The museum is open from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
San Diego Air and Space Museum is open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. today. "Your journey through the history of flight begins as you stand beneath a model of the Montgolfier brothers' hot air balloon of 1783 - the first manned vehicle in recorded history to break the bonds of gravity and lift humans above the Earth." Guests can view aircrafts from WWI, the 1920s Golden Age of Flight, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. The museum is open from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
San Diego Automotive Museum is open from 10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and offers exhibits including Harley Davidson Collection, Steam Punk, Louis Mattar's Fabulous Car, Indian Motorcycles, and more.
