As with all tragic events, like the one that took place in a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, comes an opportunity. The opportunity to learn. If we learn what the Sikh's live and abide by; 5 principles, or fundamentals of how to live a successful and rewarding life, spiritually and personally. These five daily affirmations of the Sikh faith show us a great amount of information about business, developing personal relationships, and how to live peacefully and successfully amongst ourselves;
When we wake up every day it is already a good day, why not start by giving thanks to just being here each day, and start our lives from this moment on with a new perspective? Set our sights on the future of our choice and start realizing it with gratitude. Being accountable to ourselves when we lie, cheat or take advantage of our fellow villagers. In our village, town or even city,when we live honestly and fairly, people notice, and the results are mutualistic, and not parasitic. When we start to live thankfully and honestly everyday, our reputation within our community grows, nurture this growth daily, and reaping of our sowing will be seen.
Sharing what we consume could relate to information as well as our food. Helping someone get ahead in life, or assisting them in their projects with our time and energy comes around to us by their success and future co-operation, resulting in long term relationships. There is more than enough here on this planet for everybody, we are just mismanaging, hoarded, and wasting it.
When we have acceptance of the present moment without asking the powers to be why the current situation has happened, our anxiety, and stress and levels are overcome. This habit frees up valuable time in our minds to devote more to the solutions of problems, and subsequently, we start to see the growth of our selves, and of our projects.
With growth being realized and a successful mind set having being established, we can now provide valuable help to those around us. Our immediate village and town benefits from this altruism, genuine concern for our fellow beings is preferred to the opposite egotistical and parasitical. The more we help, the more help invariably comes around to us. One's who were once struggling and are now successful, can pass it forward, creating circles of contentment and prosperity around the source, similar to the ripple effect when a pebble is thrown into water.
The practice of business is based on these five examples also. Saying thanks on a daily basis, to our clients, employees, to name but a few, is an imperative function in retaining customers. Experiencing and living our daily business and personal lives with integrity, honesty and leading by example, only brings in more referrals. And last but not least, acceptance of the current moment with absolute clarity and awareness, allowing us to make the right choice's, which are vital to business and personal growth. In our daily community around us, we have to start seeing where the need is, and how to fulfill it, and when we help find solutions to problems, true business is born.
Of course the Sikhs are not the only ones who practice this passive, peaceful living, countless other cultures do too. Let us learn from these far off humans and all work together, and just not only for the sake of our great country, but for the sake and success of our future species too...~Timothy Clacton.
