For over a year-and-a-half, some of San Diego’s most innovative electronic music producers have been getting together for under-the-radar hob nobs at the Kava Lounge (2812 Kettner – Middletown) to share formative sounds with fellow musicians.

Kava manager and musician Mateo Silva describes the sonic conclave as “a private monthly meeting for the heads in SD trying to push their own personal experiments into the cosmos. Producers only - sharing new tracks, testing levels on a proper sound system, getting feedback from peers, forming new collaborations, etc.”

Tonight, Family Matters hosts a rare public session featuring artists hailing from North County to Chula Vista representing labels including Critical Beatdown, Elk, Kill Quanti, Liquid Geometry, Riff Rap, Rogue Dubs, Saturate, and Soulection.
