Fast Break tips off its 2009-2010 coverage

The San Diego Reader’s High School Fast Break is back for the 2009-2010 season. For the second straight season, the Fast Break will be home to in-depth coverage for high school basketball throughout the San Diego Section and serve as the only high school basketball website where users can create their own original content.

Just like last year, coaches, parents, players and fans can contribute to the Red Zone by commenting on posts – last year officiating in the San Diego-Torrey Pines playoff game took a hit – and by posting your own editorial content, videos and photos both on the main page.

Coverage starts this week with the first Top 10 poll of the season and game stories from local preseason tournaments. The blog is located at www.sdreader.com/basketball.

What is on the Fast Break in 2009-2010:

Videos. The Fast Break’s YouTube channel has 111 videos from last season, the most popular being this Jeremy Tyler windmill jam. Look for more highlights this season.

Rankings. Each Sunday, the Fast Break will post a new, weekly Top 10. Hoover and Foothills Christian are 1-2 to start the season.

Game Stories. Coverage of 2-3 games per week with videos and photos.

Features. Stories highlighting unique teams, players and happenings throughout the section.

Scores. If the Fast Break can find a score, it will be up on the weekly scoreboard. Go to a game? Let us know who won.

Social Networking. Follow the Fast Break (sdfastbreak) on Twitter for breaking high school football and basketball news. We’re up to 63 followers.

The Fast Break also has a fan page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/sdredzone). Come say hi.
