So, I hear this story about a woman in Pittsburgh being attacked because she has a McCain bumper sticker.

My first thought is how I've told countless people (both Democrats and Republicans), that they're idiots to have bumper stickers on their cars. It does nothing to swing votes, but it does give someone the opportunity to key your car if they're so inclined. Why let bozos know which way you lean?

A friend of mine has a neighbor with a YES ON 8 sign in her front lawn. I told her how insane that was, and she said "Well...a few others on this street have had their signs stolen." I replied, "They're lucky it wasn't something worse that happened to their house."

Now, back to this woman. I think it's completely bogus. And, couldn't have come on a better day...the same day I hear about the woman that accused the Duke players of raping her. She has some book deal she's announcing. Remember, she lied as well. And, it also involved an ATM (in that case, the ATM receipt cleared the boys she was accusing).

The woman said that a black guy, 6'4" wearing all black, stole $60 she withdrew from an ATM. He saw her McCain bumper sticker and punched her, kicked her, and with a knife, carved a "B" into her cheek.

Well, I Googled so I could see the photo. And the first thing that jumps out at me is that the letter "B" is backwards. Now, most criminals might wear their Raiders caps backwards. But, I think they can write capital letters the proper way.

And, nobody writes letters backwards. Well...okay, the Toys R Us people, and musician Sheila E. For some reason, she likes to write people letters and sign autographs, by writing backwards.

And, why would you stand there while someone is carving your cheek like it's Thanksgiving turkey? You scream, you fight, you flail about. I'm not saying a 6'4" dude couldn't do this...but the "B" would look a lot sloppier.

Some people might say this woman suffers from Munchausen Syndrome. But, I doubt that's the case. People that suffer that will fake diseases or trauma to themselves, in order to draw attention or sympathy.

In this case, the woman refused medical care. So that rules that out.

What I think she did, was wanted to draw attention to McCain. He's losing in the polls, and no better way than to show how big, bad, and brutal the "Barack people" are, then faking an attack by one.

The Obama camp released a statement saying their thoughts and prayers are with her, and all the cliches you'd expect. Of course they can't say (if they feel like me), that it's fake. Nothing is gained by speculating that.

I bet McCain has already been by to visit her, too.

And, if any of you disagree with me that she did this to herself...and your logic is "Why would a person injure themselves?"

Let me throw this at you. A few years back, there was some college professor, who fought for the rights of minorities. She's a middle-aged Caucasian. She said a racist vandalized her car. Then a student came out and said he saw her doing it to her own vehicle.

So, as crazy as it sounds, people will damage their property or themselves, for a point. I mean, there have been people that douse themselves in gasoline and light a match.

I'm just hoping when the police do prove that she's lying (if that's the case), they charge her. Not just some small charge of "filing a false police report." But, they should trump up some charges. This is messing with election results, potentially.

And, while we're at it...grab this woman with the book deal. And charge her with some things. Maybe Jesse Jackson and his crew can come down and protest the fact that she's being able to profit by ruining college athletes lives. They can protest outside the publishing company that's paying her.

Oh wait...they're the same color. I guess it doesn't work that way.

***This blog brought to you by the letter B.

Yeah, and here it is, for those who can't be bothered to Google (or better yet -- Dogpile! They donate to animal charities):

I'm assuming that image has 'not' been reversed of course, and the letter B really is backwards. This person is apparently a McCain campaign volunteer from guess where? College Station, Texas.

Now this is an interesting possible tactic. Traipse around to states where your opponent is in the lead, and fabricate some heinous crime that reflects badly on them or their supporters.

Granted, it would make more sense to go to a battleground state with a lot of electoral votes, like Florida. But this chick (only 20, BTW), may not have any buddies there to put her up. Who knows?

It's of course 'possible' she's telling the truth, but between that thing being rather perfectly backwards and looking more like it was scratched repeatedly with a fingernail than a knife -- I'm not buying it either.

Did anybody else do this kinda sick thing when you were in fourth grade where you scratched things like that onto yourself, until it bled & crusted over? Neither did I. But some of my classmates did (back in Texas). That's the type of thing it looks like, obviously done in a mirror. Duh. College Station, Texas is not only solidly McCain, it's AGGIE-land, ya know. Looks like one of their best & brightest found her way to Pittsburgh, for some reason. Here's a bigger picture:

Now, this blogger points out that if she was on the ground, her head could've been upside down in relation to her attacker. Hence, a backwards B.

And I agree with you about the bumper stickers. I'd never put one on my car. They have no effect, look crappy, and invite trouble.

But we could print one up that says, "Vote for Whatever. Just Don't Key My Car."

Oaky never seen so many stupid americans in my life>>>>.... quote ""Well, I Googled so I could see the photo. And the first thing that jumps out at me is that the letter "B" is backwardS""

take another look at that B B B AND NOW TELL ME WHERE WAS THIS GUY STANDING WHEN HE WROTE THE B ??????????????

IF HE WAS ABOVE HER HEAD HOW IS THAT B BACKWARDS????????

DO YOU KNOW WHERE HE WAS STANDING WHEN HE WROTE IT ????

WAS YOU THERE???

ARE THESE FRIENDS OF YOURS AND THEY TOLD YOU WHERE THEY WAS ????

WHY DO THEY NEVER CHARGE BLACK PEOPLE WITH HATE CRIMES ????

IS THIS A HATE CRIME I THINK SO ..................

Oct. 24, 2008

Well meme....I'd like to charge you with a crime against the English language, but other than that, yes, they do sometimes charge blacks with hate crimes. I seem to recall a group of 3 or 4 black guys attacking someone, and yelling racial things, and that being added to the charge.

But, there are times when you're correct, and it's not called a hate crime and I know if the races were reversed, it would have been.

Even if the person was standing over her, and the "B" would've been carved that way, I still think the story is false. We'll see what the police think.

Oct. 24, 2008

Meme, As her story goes to the police, the guy sat on her chest with his knees holding down her hands. So he was looking at her straight on, which means that the B should have been in the right direction. The area in question is heavily populated with many pedestrians walking around and as one writer wrote in another site, there is a bar right across the street frequented by off duty police officers, and there are no obstructions in front of the windows. Somebody should have seen something. If a black person commits a hate crime, than they should be charged and prosecuted as anyone else should. If she is not lying than the perpetrator should be found and made to pay for the crimes. I will be generous however, if she is the one lying, unlike many people, I think she should be given psychiatric help rather than being charged with the crime of filing a fake police report. By the way the police department has noted that there are a lot of inconsistencies with her story. The police department generally will not hold a victim during a 2nd interview, for 5 hours if they do not feel that the "victim" is in some way lying to them. They will be administering a polygraph test.

Oct. 24, 2008

Well, the link above to the Pittsburg news site NOW says....

"Ashley Todd -- who has a backward letter "B" scratched into her right cheek -- confessed to faking the story and will be charged with filing a false report, Assistant Police Chief Maurita Bryant said at a news conference Friday."

SO SHE WAS LYING!!!!

Just like Josh thought, and only arrested for filing a false police report.

That didn't take long!!

Nope. Didn't take long at all. Stunk from the beginning, didn't it? Here's another link:

This is going to sound really geekish, antigeek...but when driving around today, I heard them announce that she admitted it. And, I immediatetly thought about this blog. That's the sign of a pathetic person. Not her, me. Thinking about things I'll post, when out taking part in "real life".

This is the same reason I argue with friends when we see a movie, like Crash, that gets great reviews, but really is lame, because of the things that happen in it. And, people doing things that people don't do in real life. You can hear how a person acts, or describes a crime scene, and know that it's bogus.

Now, I DID believe that one woman that drowned her 3 kids in the back of her car, driving it into a lake. She said "Some Mexicans car jacked me." I had no reason not to.

Although, it reminds me of how funny the scene of Ben Stiller is in the underrated comedy "The Cable Guy." He plays twins, that kill their family. It's a take on the Menendez Brothers. Well, the 911 call they play in court, he says "These Asians broke into my house. And, they had guns and stuff. And, they were speaking some weird language. I think it was Asian. And...they killed my dad, and the one Asian guy killed my mom, and they had other Asians waiting outside." He said "Asian" every few words. It was great.

But anyway, I think the Obama campaign should issue a statement saying, "Although we now know that she fabricated the story on her attack, we still wish her well. And we hope she seeks any mental help she may need."

It would just sound classy.

Letterman did that when his stalker, who many times broke into his house (once slept in his bed, too). She killed herself, I believe, my jumping in front of a train. He mentioned how he did many jokes at the time this was all happening, but that he felt horrible that she had a mental problem, and never was able to get the help she needed.

On a side note, when I was talking to a lawyer friend today, before word came out that she faked all this...I told her, "Wouldn't this lady be moving and trying to get away? The B wouldn't just be backwards, it would be messy." She hates George W. Bush and said "Yeah. It would end up looking more like a W."

There was silence for a few seconds, and we both started laughing uncontrollably. I guess you had to be there.

It's only pathetic if you did a "Told Ya So" buttcheek dance in the driver's seat.
