Revenge is best served...like hot pizza

Columnists that suck, and getting revenge on people.

Sometimes it's painful reading other columnists in other cities newspapers. You wonder how they got the gig. My current favorite guy to hate, is this Gene Washington who took over for Dave Barry (who was great). He is funny about one in five columns. Not a great ratio.

Well, I read a column in a Las Vegas newspaper the other day, that was excellent. I wasn't familiar with the dude, and can't remember his name now. But he talked about how the handful of enemies he has now, started disliking him because they say he "always thinks he's right."

I've always had a problem with my friends that don't fight for what is right. And, they wonder why it is, I always insist I'm right on certain things. I NEVER insist I'm right, if I don't know for a fact. And, I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong. A lot of people don't.

A friend of mine that runs a photography business, gave a restaurant owner a great deal. It was a lot less than she wanted, but she knew him from being a frequent customer in his pizza place. Well, when it came time to pay her, he insisted it was $100 less that they agreed on. They went back-and-forth for a few minutes, until she took the hundred less. She was furious.

I asked about court and she said without written contracts, she'd surely lose.

I said, "Okay. Here's the deal. We're all going to go to his restaurant. We'll order $100 worth of pizza. When the bill comes, you can tell the waitress that the owner will cover it, because of what he owes you. We'll tip the waitress, since she didn't do anything wrong. And, you are throwing the ball in his court. If he wants to go thru the trouble of suing, let him."

All my friends thought I was insane for thinking of such a plan. They said, "She should just let it go. It's not worth it."

They tell me I'm crazy for wanting to help my friend, to the point of doing something "wrong".

I'm not sure what is wrong. I'm not talking about damaging property. I'm not talking about death threats. I'm talking about getting your money back, in product.

You see, it's things like this, that make me positive my friends are wrong and I'm right.
