Lamprocapnos spectabilis

i've been noticing that this flora has been bantied about by some of the bloggers lately

the impression i get is one of subtle disdain...it's seems as tho it is a criticism of those who may be detected as living up to this flowers name

and i must wonder about that...because after visualizing bleeding hearts.... i would just love to be one

Nan!! As usual, I am stunned by the beauty of this post. We women will always have to defend ourselves against expressing the beautiful side of life. There are many names used, bleeding heart, raging feminist, some I would rather leave alone. If this is what a bleeding heart looks like, I will let mine bleed. Sometimes I wonder then why, if men find us so desirable, do they spend precious time belittling the very things that make us female?

The assumption is that bleeding hearts go along with bleeding brains. I assure you, my mother did not ever drop me on my head. It takes time, thought, commitment to try and make the world a better place, to stand up against the authoritarian hearts of stone who would keep the world in misery and pain according to their ideas of order and right and merit. My heart does bleed, and I am proud of it. And if anyone wants to disregard me for it, God bless them. I will continue to work for social justice so long as this bleeding heart keeps pumping.

I'm all for being a flower that gets to take a dip in a clear running stream. Oh! those liberal, bleeding heart projects--clean water, indeed! ;)

definately SDaniels...they will soon be drowning in their own toxic waste and still won't take credit for their avaricious stupidity...it gives me the shivers
