I think it is very important to note that negative comments on Facebook are used as grounds for dismissal from professional institutions.... so, if you can lose your job for making negative comments in a public forum (make no mistake, Facebook IS public) about your place of employment why wouldn't the Ruby Room do the same. It is very unprofessional to make a negative comment about a venue you are working (especially when that venue is donating their space) on a social forum. When you are active in the community and your Facebook comments can be viewed and shared by hundreds of San Diegans you can no longer claim that they are "private". The Ruby Room had the right to ask her to leave and it seems that Kelly is the one who turned it all into a big deal if she was the one who contacted the Reader with her "story". A story that was cleary not researched or fairly reported. I believe the real human interest story here was about the amazing community efforts to benefit a local artist in need, not one persons bad behavior and the spanking they got because of it.— June 15, 2012 1:39 p.m.
